That's what I thought. Even if it is inverted, it is similar to the distinctions of impermanence, etc., and through it, one can obtain the correct meaning. Because things, etc., exist in the conventional, one wants to focus on dedicating. Therefore, the venerable Subhuti, with the thought that "You have not said anything more," said, "The venerable Subhuti is," etc. Or, because one is free from attachment to things and objects, etc., as they appear in the ultimate sense, dedicating in the conventional sense, like an illusory person, is not inverted. With this thought, he said, "The venerable Subhuti is," etc. Even if it is reasonable, why shouldn't it be said to beginners? Welcoming this doubt with "Why is that?" he then said, "Whoever has mere faith," etc. Because one is devoid of confidence in realization, it is unstable, it is merely faith. In that very place, with the distinction of small, medium, and large, he spoke the three verses, "Merely rejoicing," etc. Or, the mere existence of faith, and the existence of qualities, and the possession of power, in order, are the manifest confidence, and the first, and the manifest desire, similarly showing the three aspects of mere joy, etc. The meaning of "will disappear" is that because one is not skilled in the difference between the conventional and the ultimate, one thinks that it will disappear. Even so, will it become something that should not be said? He said, "The venerable Subhuti is irreversible," etc. The meaning of "Whoever is closely shown by a virtuous friend" is that even if one is an ordinary being, one completely knows the nature of the two truths through the blessing of a virtuous friend. In order to draw near, he said, "Therefore," etc. The meaning of "Therefore" is that it is not satisfied with the conventional truth. Furthermore, in order to show the stable meaning in the conventional aspect, he said, "With what loving mind," etc. "Whoever" means the root of virtue that possesses rejoicing. Mind

The word "Ma" (མས་) means that rejoicing ceases when the nearly accumulated [merit] is destroyed at the time of dedication. It is free from the destruction of its own nature. The destruction of transformation is transformation. Therefore, the meaning of "Therefore" (དེས་ན་) is that at the time of dedication, with whatever mind of rejoicing one dedicates, what is that mind of rejoicing? It is nothing at all, this is a concluding statement. One might think: Thus, here, after a Bodhisattva Mahasattva rejoices, with the merit and virtuous deeds possessed by rejoicing, one dedicates to the omniscient wisdom. With such words, because it is shown before and after, it is shown that in one instant, the two mental activities of rejoicing and dedication do not arise. Therefore, because the agent is the same, the word "of" (ཏའི་) is spoken. If it is said that with only one mind, one first rejoices and then dedicates, it is unreasonable, because the permanent dharma is contradictory to acting in sequence and simultaneously. Because an instant is the very mind of rejoicing, it has ceased at the instant of dedication, therefore one thinks, how does it dedicate? Thus, it is shown that the words "after rejoicing" (རྗེས་སུ་ཡི་རང་ནས་) are not connected. Now, in order to show that the words "merit and virtuous deeds possessed by rejoicing" are unreasonable, the words "possessed by rejoicing" (རྗེས་སུ་ཡི་རང་བ་དང་ལྡན་པ་) and so on are spoken. It is said thus, because the aspect of rejoicing is born, therefore it is said that the mind of rejoicing is the very merit and virtuous deeds possessed by rejoicing. Because it is thus, therefore the merit and virtuous deeds possessed by rejoicing become a different action. The mind of rejoicing has become the agent, so what is the mind that dedicates? It is also unreasonable to dedicate that mind with that mind, because acting on oneself is contradictory, thus it is accepted. If
