It should be said that it is for the sake of increasing. Regarding "collecting together" etc., it is said as one because it is related to the past Tathagatas; manifestly collecting in one way, and further augmenting, summarizing and calculating in ways such as immeasurable. From Bodhisattvas etc. up to the connection with the animal realm, measuring and taking as a standard, and from this, for the joy of what is being taught, rejoicing with supreme joy; being very happy with the author's excellent faith, and with the thought that one will perfect all of these, doing it with a special thought, this is the meaning. In order to show the supreme meaning, "supreme" etc. were said. These have been explained. When reciting in the mouth, it refers to not focusing on the aggregates of morality etc. of all the Tathagatas, with the merit of having rejoiced, for the benefit of all sentient beings, dedicating to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, it should be said like this, this is the concluding remark. "May it be completely accomplished" means to produce. "I and all sentient beings" etc. are the remaining part. After showing the non-conceptual dedication intention, now in order to answer the bad objections to it, the question is asked, for it, the individuals of the Bodhisattva vehicle etc. said like this. "With what things do you dedicate" refers to the concluding words if offering with the cause of the lineage of the Tathagatas etc. In some manuscripts it says "rejoicing", there too, because it is the occasion of dedicating intention, it should be understood as dedicating in meaning. Just like that, it will also be explained immediately with what things and in what ways what mind is dedicated. Regarding "with what objects and in what ways", the objects are the aggregates of morality etc. and all dharmas. The various distinctions of holding it are the ways. That mind refers to the discriminating of holding.

Pa'o. The word "gcig" is a postpositional particle that is used to express the meaning of the word "ci." Is it apprehended in the same way as it has been marked? This means that just because of the past, things and so on have not been marked, it is impossible to completely dedicate. Because it does not exist, just as it does not exist, how can the conventional, which is stated more fictitiously, be the object? Is it that one apprehends suchness in that way? This is its synonym. If it is thought that it is apprehended, then, because there is the harm of valid cognition, if one apprehends things, just like knowledge of mirages and so on, one completely understands it in a reversed way. Therefore, all acts of dedication that arise from its power are weak, just as they arise from the reversal of self and what belongs to self. This is what is thought. The object of discrimination is false because it is fabricated; and because it depends on conditions to function, it is impossible to apprehend it as suchness, just like dreams, illusions, and mirages. This means that the venerable Subhūti (梵文:सुभूति) said "those things" and so on. Even now, dedication will become reversed, which means that he said "if that thing does not exist" and so on. Because it takes its own characteristic as its object, it is apprehension. Because it completely cuts off the general aspect, it is a mark. The thought called reversed, etc., means that the thought that has the nature of marking, because it does not have its own object, is reversed, and it grasps what is not it as it, so the thought is reversed. The mind called reversed is the mind of consciousness that apprehends the object, and it is also reversed in the same way. The view called reversed is the view of wisdom that completely cuts off the nature of the aspect, and exists as the nature of discrimination, and it is also reversed as before. "Unchanging" means that if so, because it is related to what came before, but it is changing, this is its synonym. Even so, the mental activity of dedication that does not apprehend will become the nature of reversed thought and so on, this is the remaining part. Because of other reasons.

Therefore, since the perverted notions and so forth have been explained, there will be nothing contradictory to the usual meaning, and therefore nothing will be said. If, because other things do not have their own objects, notions and so forth become perverted, then why does the doubt arise as to how other notions that are not of that nature become the nature of perverted notions and so forth? This is greeted with "Why?" and then it is said, "It is like this," and so on. In "desire also," the word "also" includes hatred and so forth. "Distinguished and imputed" means fabricated. "Constantly contemplated" means repeatedly focused upon. Since it arises from perverted notions and so forth, desire is also a perverted notion, and so forth, should be connected in this way. It is said thus: Because for things that possess impermanence and other qualities, permanence and so forth, which do not exist, are fabricated, and repeatedly focused upon, when desire and so forth arise as the cause of perverted notions and so forth, since they arise as the nature of perverted notions and so forth, therefore, for the mind that dedicates everything without an object, it will also arise in the same way. To explain other aspects, it is said, "Furthermore," and so on. Furthermore, things as they are and without form as they are, this is the remainder. Is enlightenment also like that, is mind also like that, is it also non-existent? This question is brought forth from within, and if it is admitted that "It is like that," then "If it is like that" and so forth are said. It is intended to express that all phenomena of grasping and being grasped, and all the realms of their habitual tendencies, will also become non-existent. If that is the case, what fault is there? "If" and so forth are said. Thinking thus, if things and so forth are non-existent, and enlightenment and mind and so forth are also like that, then with which things and so forth, will which minds and so forth, be dedicated to which enlightenment? Because with whatever, whatever, and wherever, it is impossible to dedicate. Therefore, in every way, dedication is unreasonable, then dedication will become perverted.
