wants to be like that. Because of having excellent diligence and so on, thinking that it will transform from higher to higher into the extraordinary fruit of merit and so on, so he spoke well, and those who agree are Kausika, and said "it is just like that" and so on. This shows the meaning that just as realizing that one is separated from excellent diligence and so on, obtaining faith, and also understanding great realization is rare, so offering to the Prajnaparamita and so on is also rare, and that is what is shown by his words. Otherwise, for the words asked by Indra, it would become that nothing was said. Because showing very few and extremely few and so on, it is in order to explain in detail the meaning just spoken. Therefore, he said "Kausika, which ones are stream-enterers" and so on. "Generating the mind and making it vast" refers to: "The wise generate the supreme mind, and immediately stop endless sins. In times of prosperity and times of decline, this is not destroyed by afflictions and suffering." Remembering these qualities, the practice is expanded and explained. "Initiating diligence" means diligence is blazing. "Practicing in yoga" means that the mind is focused on one point by the power of meditation. "Conduct" means abiding in accordance with the realization of suchness. "Abiding on the irreversible ground" means not moving back. "Superior excellent intention" means: "Broad and vast joy, great need and diligence, Virtue itself is superior, it is the supreme excellent intention." Having these excellent intentions. "To them also" refers to those listeners. Furthermore, in order to show very few, he said "Kausika, and again which ones generate the mind of enlightenment" and so on. Isn't everything entering into equal intention? Why would one or two abide? Welcoming with "Why would there be such doubts?", Kausika, the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment is

It speaks of actions and so forth. Because of the four that are in accordance with the aspect of definitive discernment, and because of the lack of outstanding diligence on the paths of seeing, meditation, and distinction. The meaning of the seven words, such as "weak diligence," should be stated in order. It means that because there is no outstanding diligence, even if one enters with the same intention at first, not all are vessels for unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. That which is called "difficult to accomplish" is difficult to traverse. In order to show the aspect of smallness within greatness, Kauśika, therefore, it is said, "Thus," and so forth. That which is called "quickly" is swiftly. That which is called "comfortably" is without afflictions. That which is called "uninterruptedly" is again and again. Shouldn't one learn the conduct of enlightenment by seeking the Tathāgata himself as the purpose? If so, why should one learn the Prajñāpāramitā? To welcome this doubt, Kauśika, it is said, "Thus," and so forth. The meaning of the words is: Because in the past, when the Bhagavan practiced the conduct of a Bodhisattva, in order to perfect the conduct, he learned the Prajñāpāramitā in a non-objective manner, similarly, we should also rely on the Prajñāpāramitā, which is the cause of obtaining all the qualities of the Buddha. Otherwise, with objectification, the conduct of a Bodhisattva will not be perfected, and enlightenment will not be realized, so the Bodhisattva knows. In order to show the aspect of medium smallness, Kauśika, therefore, it is said, "Thus," and so forth. That which is called "the nature of the seven jewels" is: མུ་སར་གལ་བ་བཻ་ཌཱུ་ཪྻ། (pearl, coral, vaiḍūrya) དངུལ་དང་ཤེལ་དང་གསེར་དང་ནི། (silver, crystal, gold) མུ་ཏིག་དམར་བཅས་རྡོ་སྙིང་རྣམས། (pearl, ruby, gemstone) ཀུན་ལས་གཙོ་ཕྱིར་རིན་པོ་ཆེ། (because it is more important than everything, it is a jewel) སྣ་བདུན་བརྗོད་པ་ཡང་ན་ནི། (or the seven jewels) མདོག་དང་དབྱིབས་ཀྱི་ཆ་ཙམ་ལས། (only the part of color and shape) དེ་ལས་ཐ་དད་རིན་པོ་ཆེ། (different from that is the jewel) གཞན་པ་དག་ནི་ཡིན་པར་བརྗོད། (others are said to be) Because it is said so, it is the nature of those seven jewels. That which is called "nature" is its essence. The relics of the Tathāgata.
