It is now held by the present birth. Merit is benefit. These are the offerings of protection, rescue, and numerous quantities just mentioned. Obtaining and being called is in the stage of combination. Completely holding will become the stage of entry. Thus, after stating the connection, to show the appearance, the question is, the Blessed One, etc., is a request. Also, if one holds this Prajñāpāramitā, will the five Pāramitās such as generosity also be truly held? It should be said that the reason for mentioning the six Pāramitās is that the main Prajñāpāramitā also includes the secondary nature of Prajñāpāramitā, thinking it is so and saying it. From truly understanding all dharmas, the main heretics arise, therefore it gathers all pure dharmas, with such intention, so the Blessed One said Kauśika, it is like that. It is said: Prajñāpāramitā is the collection of all antidotes, so if one focuses on all dharmas, then the forbearance of knowing after the cessation arises. To show the appearance of the fourth moment of cessation. Kauśika, and said etc., listen well etc. has been said. Or only at the beginning is the cause of faith, therefore it is good, so listen carefully. Because in the middle is the good of the cause of good, so listen carefully. Also, because in the end is the good of the cause of liberation, therefore pay attention properly. Or because it is the antidote to small, medium, and large faults, therefore it is said in order to listen well, etc. Or because the words and meanings and both are definitely held, therefore it is said well, etc., as the number. In Dharma etc., Dharma is Sutra Pitaka etc. Controversy is holding the idea of contradiction.

Oh! The opponent is the one who, from then on, understands the words to be contradictory and argues. In this way, opposing in two ways means being inconsistent. Or, because the letters, meanings, and both are inconsistent, the three words such as arguing and desiring are spoken. The immediately following "desire," "the Bodhisattva's joyful manifestation of the Yoga of the Victorious Mother" arises from within. Because it is guiding to explain the benefits of that itself. Below it says, "The root of that dispute, those born and unborn, will disappear and will not exist," and so on. "Disappearing" means becoming invisible. "Not existing" means that existence cannot be obtained by reason. Therefore, those thoughts will not be fulfilled, and the hopes in the mind will not be completely realized and reach the end. If doubt arises, thinking that because other conceptualizations arise, there is no answer, how will it disappear? Welcoming with "Why is that?" it says, "Kaushika, that is," and so on. This means that, like this, by the blessings of the practitioner who practices the Prajnaparamita, he himself alone will be able to answer those questions, this is the Dharma nature. Grasping and so on have already been said. Or, briefly, the listener is the one who grasps. Attention is the one who remembers. Reciting the scriptures is the reader. Grasping the meaning of the scriptures is the one who fully understands. In order to show the meaning that does not contradict direct perception, inference, and scripture. Or, in order to show that the three aspects of the meaning of the words such as the completely imputed do not exist, so in order they become skillful in reciting and closely showing. Reciting the scriptures is to closely show the reading. Chanting is for doing in the upper part of the night and so on. Grasping and so on are to be properly accomplished with the difference of intention such as dedicating to enlightenment. The root of the dispute is the place of the opponent. In order to approach the conclusion, Kaushika, son of the lineage.

English

Or so it is said. The word "also" does not only refer to the virtues mentioned below. Thus, the Perfection of Wisdom is shown to have glory and power to completely pacify all harm. In order to illustrate it well with an example, it is said, "Kaushika, for example," and so on. Some texts say "completely examine and hold," which means that from the difference of cause to the difference of effect, it is the manifestation of independent existence, which shows that it is difficult to obtain. The so-called "pacifying all poisons" means that it eliminates poisons such as immobility, thus revealing its own nature. The so-called "poisonous snake beings" refers to creatures with venomous fangs. In "hunger" and so on, hunger means that although afflicted by hunger, some engage in worship, and in order to distinguish the situation where food is not needed, it is said, "desiring food." Even so, those who manifest their nature do not seek food, and to distinguish from this, it is said, "one who seeks food." The so-called "some who have become creatures" refers to those included among sentient beings, which is a general term for frogs and so on. The so-called "smell" refers to the smell of that belonging to living beings, such as applying it. The so-called "following" means taking possession of it as if it were edible. The so-called "pursuing" means chasing after it. The so-called "returning" means causing it to return. Someone doubts: where the smell of animals does not return, how can the smell of medicine return? To address this doubt, it is said, "Kaushika, like that," and so on. The meaning of the words is that even in the conventional sense, it is because it becomes the cause and the effect, so the medicine itself has the virtue of suppressing poisonous snakes, so it can suppress poisonous snakes, not others. Thus, that medicine has great power. Even if they are different, it is because of their nature. It is certain, just like the senses and so on. That is the meaning.
