When life is exhausted by (karma), like a candle extinguished, it is named Nirvana. Those who have transcended the cycle of the three realms, in the instant of the mind of death and transference of consciousness, abide in the uncontaminated realm of reality, and are born in the lotus bud in the realms of completely pure worlds. Then, they are awakened by the rays of the sun of the perfectly complete Buddhas such as Amitabha, in order to dispel the darkness of non-afflictions. After generating the mind of enlightenment, just as wandering in hell etc. at the time of liberation, they proceed step by step, accumulate the accumulations of enlightenment, and become the teachers of the world, as is certain in the scriptures. Therefore, because of the cessation of karma and contaminated afflictions, the result, the cycle of the three realms, will be stopped. To be born in the uncontaminated realm of reality is not so, what contradiction is there? Therefore, it should be known that it is reasonable that all vehicles should enter the Mahayana in various ways. Even so, it is good to quote what is said in the 《Lotus Sutra》 and the 《Chapter of the Truthful》, etc.: Shariputra, you will become a perfectly complete Buddha in the future. And, the vehicle is one, there is no second, etc. In order to completely eliminate the fear of some people, the Blessed One himself clarified that the meaning of the One Vehicle shown in the 《Ten Dharma Sutra》 and the 《Cloud of Jewels Sutra》 etc. is expedient. In the 《Lankavatara Sutra》 it is also said, Great Wisdom, the Hearer Vehicle is not the path to liberation, however, they eventually return to the Mahayana. Similarly, the Holy Nagarjuna and his followers, speaking in the manner of the One Vehicle, said: After obtaining the two kinds of enlightenment, those who are afraid of samsara will become those who are happy to be exhausted and happy to be in Nirvana, and have the thought of Nirvana. There is no Nirvana in that, but in the realm of the three existences, they no longer have reincarnation. They abide in the uncontaminated realm of reality, because they do not understand (reality), do not abandon afflictions, and will later become Buddhas.

Spurred on by wisdom, accumulating the accumulations of enlightenment, they will also lead the world. Thus it is said. Thus, in every way, this pleasing Suchness is shown, and in order to increase the joy of those who have faith in the Noble Subhuti, the Bhagavan said, "Well done," and so on. Although it is an object of practice, these meanings are explained with extremely clear words, as if they were directly perceived, which is very rare, so he said "Well done! Well done!" twice. Showing only what the speaker wants to say, he was very pleased, and again said, "Well done," saying that whatever is said is beautiful. The word "what" is a particle of speech, and it enters into the meaning of "why." In some manuscripts, it says "why," meaning why you guide with the One Vehicle, causing the Bodhisattvas to show their own side and make them happy, which is also well done. The Venerable Asanga and those who follow his treatises, who speak of various vehicles, explain it differently, saying that the words such as "those who have entered into the certainty of reality" are the meaning of certainty, but the words such as "however" are the meaning of guidance, therefore the meaning of pervasiveness is spoken in terms of the potential of the Buddha-nature. Similarly, "Some are for the sake of guidance, the perfect Buddhas, show the One Vehicle to those who are not certain." and so on, is a complete removal of the contradiction with other sutras. In the past, in the direction of showing the One Vehicle, those who have the awakening of the Shravakas and so on as a precursor, so those who will attain great enlightenment, they are shown as the lineage of Shravakas and so on based on that time, but those who rely on the unsurpassed enlightenment in the order of realization, only in the first place, such as the Extremely Joyful Ground, are of the Mahayana lineage, so there is no contradiction with the difference of lineage. It is enough to mention it in passing. Now, in order to show the nature and function of the path itself, the Bhagavan said, "We," and so on.

It is said. The wise who remember the benefits bestowed are those who repay kindness. Since the needs of the excellent path and so on are not yet complete, isn't it still bestowing benefits? Why is it said that way? This doubt is greeted with "Why is it so?" The statement is "Bhagavan, in the past," and so on. "For our sake" means for our needs, which is a synonym. It is intended to mean for the turning of the wheel of Dharma that precedes the Hearer Vehicle. "How" is connected to "for our sake." Or how to advise. "For enlightenment" means for the cause of unsurpassed enlightenment. Brahmacharya is the opposite of non-Brahmacharya. As in the principle of "Those who abide by discipline, are learned, and contemplate, should diligently practice meditation." This shows that it is appropriately endowed with the five bases of training and so on. "In conduct" means that as long as samsara is not empty, engaging in the work of benefiting sentient beings, generating the mind of enlightenment, is not merely abandoning all defilements by knowing the path, which is its nature. Therefore, by subduing defilements and practicing for a long time, this shows its nature. Otherwise, the conduct of enlightenment will not be complete. "Advising the perfections" means, how does one advise the perfections such as generosity? It is explained separately by advising, having advised, and having advised. In some sutras, it is stated thus: Giving advice is easy to understand. "Following the teaching" means following and learning. "To them" means to those Hearers. In some circumstances. "By practicing" means not manifesting the true limit of the nature as previously stated, skillfully grasping generosity and so on with wisdom and means, not allowing them to cling to reality, and gradually grasping sentient beings who have not yet been liberated.
