Like lotuses in the sky, etc., it is unreasonable to say that only different distinctions will arise from the different natures of causes, since they do not depend on the action of causes. However, if one is manifestly attached to the idea that it is dependent, then even so, since the action of the cause, such as the nature of realization joined by realization, is abandoned, it is merely a conjecture and will not become the true meaning. If that is the case, the result will become causeless, because the action of the cause will be closely associated with the conjectured natures. However, if, fearing the aforementioned fault, one asserts that the result is not different but one, and that the distinctions are different but not different from the result, then, if that is the case, then how can it be that dharmas and dharmas possessing the quality of being different and not different are actually different, like the moon and stars, etc.? Therefore, the general difference itself will strongly descend, and it will not only be a fault of having mutually contradictory characteristics. However, if it is admitted that it is not different from the nature of realization, then the result, namely consciousness, will not arise from form, because it is not different from the essence of realization, just like the self-nature of realization. Since it is not different from the aspect of the object, it will also arise from form, just like the self-nature of the aspect of the object. In this way, arising and not arising from one result, and also causing to arise simultaneously in one cause, are contradictory in themselves. If one thinks that one sees the result of such an aspect arising, then this is not reasonable, just as seeing two moons, etc., is not reliable, and just as being harmed by valid cognition, not all seeing becomes valid. If one thinks that one accepts the third view, which is that only one cause produces many results, then this is not reasonable, because if many results arise from one, then different causes will not produce different results, so different is also not a different cause. Therefore, the various differences and non-differences will become causeless. If the cause is only one, but it produces many results, then even if it is not different, the distinction of its own nature is...

If it is said to be a net, then, does that cause, with whatever distinction of its own, produce one result, or does it produce other results with that very self? If it is said to be with that very self, then how can there be different results? If it is said to be with others, then it is not reasonable that the cause is not different, because there is no other object in the distinction of the self. If one thinks like this, if, as in the Samkhya school, the cause that has become the nature of the effect produces the effect, then it is contradictory for one to become the nature of many, therefore it is not reasonable not to produce many. Because, merely by the proximate cause of the nature that is determined to produce different and non-different things, when producing a non-different result, one will not be troubled by this argument. If it is thought that from the cause of nature that is determined to produce different and non-different things, different and non-different results arise, and that this is precisely how different and non-different results arise from different and non-different causes, then this is also wrong. Because, one should analyze this in detail in this way: does the nature of the eye, which produces the moment of the eye, also produce the consciousness of the eye with that very self? If it is said to be with that very self, then the consciousness will also become merely the eye, because it is produced by the cause of the nature that produces the eye, just like the eye. Or, is the nature that produces consciousness itself also the eye? If that is the case, then because it is produced by the cause of the consciousness of the eye, the eye will also become the consciousness of the eye, just like the consciousness of the eye. Or, the eye and the non-eye produced separately by the cause of the nature of the eye and the non-eye will arise, similarly, because it is produced by the cause of the nature that produces consciousness and non-consciousness, it will become the nature of consciousness and non-consciousness. If you admit that this is so, then you will be very close to being harmed by direct perception and so on. If you think that the nature of the eye produces the moment of the eye with others, and that others produce the consciousness of the eye, then those natures are from the eye...
