should also be said. Similarly, as previously stated, relying on these that possess discrimination, it should also be said that they are particularly superior by distinguishing them as small, medium, and large, thus there are five distinctions. The four roots of virtue, such as the heat stage of the Hearers and others, with the four truths that are the nature of things with characteristics such as form being destructible as the object of focus, entering into aspects such as impermanence by the power of the antidote to the view of self, and becoming the cause of realizing only one's own vehicle, and being free from grasping, and the four discriminations are not obstacles to long-lasting enlightenment, therefore, no matter what they are mixed with, they arise unmixed, thus it is established. As it is said: The object and the aspect, The cause and the grasping, Protect the Bodhisattva, The nature of heat and so on is just like that, Possessing and relying on the four discriminations, The small, medium, and large, Like the Hearers and Pratyekabuddhas, Are superior to all conditioned things. This is what was said. Among them, regarding the meaning of the object of focus of the root of virtue belonging to the small, such as the heat stage, what is said is: Bhagavan, furthermore, etc. Furthermore, it means showing the instructions of the Prajnaparamita in another way. Prajnaparamita, although it is a general statement, refers to the nature of focusing on things such as impermanence. Thus, in other instances, the Bhagavan said: Monks, the Sutra should be explained following other Sutras. In the Twenty-five Thousand Verse, speaking from the aspect of the small belonging to the heat stage: Venerable Shariputra, for this Bodhisattva, form is impermanent, and form is suffering, and form is empty, and form is selfless, and so on. Here there is only this difference, namely: thus it is shown in brief. There, it is explained extensively in terms of each truth, therefore there should be no doubt. Practicing means individually meditating with the wisdom that is not in meditative equipoise.

The so-called "earth" refers to the wisdom of equanimity. As it is said, the sixteen aspects such as impermanence are said to be based on the objects that rely on the four truths such as suffering. If asked, by what aspects should it be objectified? The answer is: as said in "how" and so on. As said in "that also" and so on, because it is extremely hidden, it is not only that the knowable is not considered to be the object, but also for the aspect of the nature of eliminating manifest attachment, with what kind of wisdom that can attain Bodhi as the nature of the object, one should not arise arrogance, meaning not to be manifestly attached. In short, it is through the gate of Dharma-nature, without manifest attachment and other aspects. "Thus" and so on refer to the way previously described. As it is said, the Shravakas objectify things with characteristics such as destructibility, because they are the antidote to the view of self, so they are those aspects and so on. Bodhisattvas objectify things with characteristics such as impermanence, because they are the antidote to the view of Dharma, so they are those aspects, that is, without manifest attachment and so on. If it is said that there is no object of manifest attachment, then because there is nothing, it should not be an antidote. If it is said that it is not manifest attachment, then it would follow that the eyes and so on should also be manifest attachment. It should be said that if it is an opposing factor, then it is manifest attachment; if it is an antidote, then it is without manifest attachment. Also, how is it an opposing factor? It is like those who, aroused by untrue discriminations, grasp onto existence and non-existence. How is it an antidote? In any case, those do not exist. Also, how do those not exist? If one knows that those two do not exist in such Suchness. Thus, Venerable Shariputra, if in that mindlessness and so on, that will be explained immediately afterwards. Is it not reasonable to have all aspects such as no manifest attachment? It is endowed with realization.
