That which is called "the nature of reality acts upon all" is said to be profound conduct. The meaning of profound non-duality is as stated by the Blessed One, "Subhuti, what Bodhisattva Mahasattva," and so forth. What is meant by "acting upon what" is to abide in what place. To act upon the ultimate truth means to act without characteristics, and because of non-duality, to act upon the realm of phenomena is to be profound in non-duality. This is the intention. To clarify this, the Blessed One said, "Subhuti, what do you think? Does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who acts upon the ultimate truth act upon characteristics?" "No, Blessed One," means that the perception of characteristics and the absence of characteristics is prevented, so one does not act upon characteristics that are characterized by clinging to what is real and what is unreal. The meaning of skillful means being profound is as the Blessed One said, "Subhuti, what do you think? Has he not destroyed those characteristics?" The meaning of "not destroyed" is not abandoned, or in short. "No, Blessed One," means that all phenomena are not clear because of the power of having no object of focus. Because characteristics are not existent. If that is so, then is it separated from characteristics? The Blessed One said, "Subhuti, what do you think? Does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who practices the Perfection of Wisdom destroy characteristics?" Because there is no effort to abandon, there is no abandonment of characteristics, so the Blessed One was asked, "Blessed One." The conduct of a Bodhisattva, like a disease-like arising, how can I obtain the abandonment of characteristics in this very life? A Bodhisattva should not think or strive in this way, that is the meaning. What fault will occur after abandoning it? The Blessed One was therefore asked, "If." How can one be both abandoned and not abandoned? The Blessed One was therefore asked, "Blessed One, in this way." In this way, in conventional truth, the characteristics of form and so on are like illusions, and one should know what their nature is, what their characteristics are, and what their cause is. And in ultimate truth, it is the characteristic of being unborn.

Since it is in order to become completely familiar with the realm of Dharma, which is without characteristics, therefore, the abandonment in the ultimate sense and the non-abandonment in the conventional sense, this is said to be the profoundness of skillful means. Therefore, in order to obtain such an inconceivable gate of liberation, by pursuing mutually contradictory meanings, realizing the eight profoundnesses such as birth, and in order to enter into conforming terms, abiding on the path of cultivation like the sixteen moments, it should be understood as the characteristic of non-retrogression. As it is said: Birth and cessation, and suchness and knowable, knowledge and conduct and non-duality, skillful means are profound. Thus it is said. By showing the characteristic of non-retrogression, the Sangha of the Bodhisattva who is a student is explained. After that, because of abandoning the universally afflicted and the completely purified conceptualizations, therefore, realizing the equality of the two, thereby becoming the state of no-more-learning. Because from then on, there is nothing to be learned. Therefore, in order to clearly show the characteristics of the Sangha of no-more-learning, the equality of samsara and nirvana is to be explained, therefore, it is said, "The venerable Subhuti, Bodhisattva Mahasattva," and so on. Because the meaning of the word "what" lies in questioning, it is the concluding remark of asking whether the Prajnaparamita will increase and approach increase. The answer is "It will not increase," such as "If during the day," and so on. Here, samsara and non-discriminating wisdom are said with the intention of relying on the states of dreams and daytime in order. The intention should be understood in this way: through the control of abandoning the dissimilar aspects and the conceptualizations of the antidote, when the two are realized as equality, if the meditation that has become daytime increases, then what is seen in dreams also belongs to increase, however, just as daytime does not increase, so it is in dreams as well. In order to clarify these, the doubt is greeted by "Why is that?", and then it is "Dreams and daytime," and so on.
