The reason for saying this is that since there is no origination, there is no dharma to be used to attain perfect enlightenment. To clarify this, the Blessed One requested, "Like this," and so on. The so-called "for the sake of abandoning" means for the sake of abandoning the afflictions through the uninterrupted path. The so-called "attaining perfect enlightenment" and "will attain perfect enlightenment" refer to the stage of the path of liberation. The so-called "seeking" and "will seek" refer to the supreme path. The so-called "through this way" is also because the agent, action, and object are unobtainable. Because of emptiness itself, it is extremely impossible to attain enlightenment, as it is said, "Subhuti, because there is no arising," and so on. Among them, because there is no cause, there is no arising. Because there is no result, it is impossible to be truly existent. Therefore, because it is not the object of worldly and transworldly wisdom, it is said in order, "indistinguishable" and "unachievable." It is said that because all dharmas are unborn, they are not the object of wisdom. How can the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment be easily produced? So, what is it like? Yogis have special faith in such dharmas, but in the mundane world, like an illusory person, they accumulate the accumulations of merit and wisdom, and then they can realize it, so it is said to be difficult to produce. To show this, it is said, "Venerable Subhuti, emptiness," and so on. Similarly, in order to introduce the question through "why," it is said, "Venerable Subhuti, space," and so on. "Does not think of attaining perfect enlightenment," means that because it is emptiness, the bodhisattva who has the nature of space does not think, 'I will attain perfect enlightenment,' because it is emptiness, the bodhisattva who has the nature of space does not think, 'I will attain perfect enlightenment.'

It is difficult to achieve Buddhahood without such effort, which is a summary statement. In order to negate that the venerable Subhuti easily attains complete enlightenment even in the conventional sense, it is said, "Venerable Subhuti, if," and so on. The so-called "once one becomes irreversible" means that merely having the intention to realize it will not cause one to regress. After explaining from the perspective of regression, and then explaining from the perspective of compliance, it is said, "Venerable Subhuti," and so on. Since it is impossible to regress, how can it be difficult to achieve? To refute this, it is said, "Venerable Shariputra, how else," and so on. If one were to regress, would form and other dharmas, which are entities, or something different from them, or the dharma of suchness itself, or something different from it, regress? "How else" is a universal question. Because it is asked after considering the nature of dharma, this is the meaning of the phrase "it is not so." After generally explaining that it is impossible to regress in the seven bhumis such as Joyful, for the three bhumis such as Immovable, it is also explained by classifying the objects of knowledge and the dharmas to be known, such as "Venerable Shariputra, will form and so on realize the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment?" After the Buddha-bhumi is completely under the power of light, it is said, "Venerable Shariputra, what do you think?" and so on. The so-called "what is the dharma of regression" is because there is no cause for regression, for that dharma of emptiness, abiding in a way that does not cling to any appearance, then what is the dharma that will regress? This is the concluding statement of "it is nothing." The so-called "what is dharma" is that it is nothing. The particle "what" is used to mean abandonment. Explaining the summary is "Venerable Shariputra, it is so," and so on. The so-called "in truth and existence, all dharmas are without object," some say that it refers to those who abide in the aspect of no object in the truth of ultimate reality and in imputation.
