From the Light Commentary on the Abhisamayalankara, the seventh chapter is called "The Realm of Sentient Beings in Hell." Having explained the causes of understanding and not understanding, and the objects of attainment and complete abandonment, the text now appropriately reveals the purity of the path of meditation, characterized by extreme purity, as a general indication of profundity. The Blessed One spoke of the Prajnaparamita as "not manifestly striving," and so on. Because of devotion that is especially difficult and painful, it is difficult to believe, meaning especially difficult to believe. With the distinction between ordinary beings and noble ones, isn't there bondage and liberation? How is form neither bound nor liberated? The doubt is met with "Why cling?" and it is said, "Because form is without inherent existence," because the form of the three times is the nature of wisdom. After the general indication, "Subhuti, the prior limit of form," and so on, are spoken of with the distinctions of past, etc. Similarly, the doubt is met with "Why cling?" and it is said, "Because the prior limit is without inherent existence," because it is not born from that cause alone, so the inherent existence of the prior limit, that which does not exist in the presently arising form, is called that. As before, the doubt is met with "Why?" and it is said, "Because the posterior limit is without inherent existence," because the result of the posterior limit does not exist in this, which is not born from that cause alone, thus the words are arranged. Similarly, the doubt is met with "Why?" and it is said, "Because the presently arising is without inherent existence," because form and so on are empty of their own nature, so the presently arising is separated from characteristics. Difficult to believe because it is not the realm of ordinary beings. Extremely difficult to believe because it is not the realm of those who are free from clinging and desire. How is it extremely difficult to believe that form and so on, and the nature of the Prajnaparamita, are understood as different because of the distinction between conventional and ultimate? The doubt is met with "Why?" Subhuti

Thus, "the purity of form" and so on were spoken. Because there is no distinction of various kinds, it is a different body. Because it cannot be decided by the nature of superior distinction, it is uninterrupted. Furthermore, because it is separated from the various characteristics of self and common characteristics, it is spoken in order. Thus, in "Ravana, if so" and so on: What is the conventional suchness? That is the ultimate truth. That kind is also because it is not a different body, it stays as it appears. In this way, because it is free from the manifestation of attachment to me and mine, etc., the form, etc., becomes a pure illusion, that is, because it is free from all incompatible aspects, the fruit of entering the stream, etc., is the purity of Prajna Paramita. Thus, what is the purity of the fruit position, that is the purity of form and so on, because it is inseparable, so the different body is uninterrupted. Therefore, the purity of the fruit position is the purity of form and so on, and so on, the purity of form and so on is the purity of the fruit position, as shown in the meaning. It is also said: The fruit is pure, the form is pure, what is the nature of purity? The two are not different bodies, and they are said to be pure because they cannot be broken. So it is said. In this way, after generally speaking of purity, in order to show the difference, it is said that "Ravana, again" and so on, the so-called purity of all-knowingness is the synonymous term for the three purities of all-knowingness. Therefore, it is said that the hearers eliminate the defilement obstacles, and the solitary觉s eliminate the defilement obstacles and the conceptual thoughts of grasping one side of the knowledge obstacles, so all-knowingness is pure. The Bodhisattvas eliminate the obstacles of the path of the three vehicles, so the wisdom of the path is pure. The Tathagatas eliminate the defilement obstacles and the knowledge obstacles and their habits, and because they are eliminated in all aspects, they are extremely pure, and the nature arising from the Dharma Realm is the purity of all kinds of wisdom, so it is said.
