With what objects and what aspects does one completely disturb the mind, and this will be explained immediately below. Regarding 'with what objects and what aspects,' the objects are the aggregates such as morality, and all phenomena. The various distinctions of holding them are the aspects. 'The mind' refers to the discriminating consciousness that holds. The word 'one' is a particle, used in the sense of 'what.' How does one apprehend as if taking a sign? This means that due to the past itself, things and so on, if not taken as signs, cannot be completely dedicated. Because they do not exist, how can the conventional, which is further fabricated and spoken as if they do not exist, be taken as an object? Or is it that one apprehends that very reality in that way? This is a question. If it is asserted that one apprehends, then, since there is the harm of valid cognition, if one apprehends things, like the knowledge of mirages and so on, one completely understands them in a reversed way. Therefore, all the actions of dedication that arise from its power are weak, just as they arise from the reversal of self and what belongs to self. This is what is thought. The object of discrimination is false because it is fabricated; and because it arises dependent on conditions, it is impossible to apprehend that very reality, just like dreams, illusions, and mirages. The venerable Subhuti said, 'Those things...' and so on. Now it is also said that dedication will become reversed, if that thing does not exist... and so on. Because it takes its own characteristic as its object, it is apprehension. Because it completely cuts off the general aspect, it is taking a sign. 'Reversed perception' and so on refer to the perception that is the nature of taking a sign, and because it does not have its own object, it is reversed, grasping what is not that as that. Therefore, perception is reversed. 'Reversed mind' refers to the mind of consciousness that takes an object, and it is also reversed in the same way. 'Reversed view' refers to the view of wisdom that is the nature of discriminating aspects, which completely cuts off the nature of aspects, and it is the same as before.

is inverted. The term "unchanging" refers to how it relates to what came before, yet it is synonymous with change itself. Even so, the non-objective, all-encompassing dedication of attention will transform into the nature of inverted perceptions, and so on, which is the remaining part. Because, if it were not so, since it has already been shown that perceptions and so on are themselves inverted, in order not to contradict the usual meaning, it would become as if nothing had been said. If, because there is no object of its own in other things, perceptions and so on have become inverted, then, someone might doubt, how can other perceptions, which are not its nature, transform into the nature of inverted perceptions, and so on? To welcome this doubt, the statement begins with "Why is that?" and so on, which is "like this" and so on. In "desire also," the word "also" includes hatred and so on. "Distinguished and imputed" means to superimpose. "Completely examined" means to repeatedly focus on. Because desire arises from inverted perceptions and so on, desire is also an inverted perception, and so on, connect it in this way. It means that because, for things that have the nature of impermanence and so on, one imputes permanence and so on, which do not exist, and repeatedly focuses on them, when desire and so on arise as the cause of inverted perceptions and so on, since they arise as the nature of inverted perceptions and so on, therefore, the non-objective, all-encompassing dedication of attention will also arise in the same way. To show other aspects, it says "Furthermore" and so on. Furthermore, things as they are and the suchness of having no appearance, this is the remaining part. Is enlightenment also like that, is the mind also like that, is it also non-existent? Thus, posing the question from within, if the answer is "It is like that," then it says "If it is like that" and so on. It means that all phenomena of grasping and being grasped, and all the realms of its habitual tendencies, will also become non-existent. If that were the case, what fault would there be? So it says "If" and so on. Thinking, if things and so on are non-existent in that way, then.
