Small virtue, immeasurable virtue, increasing virtue, cloudless, born of merit, great fruit, unconscious beings, non-abandoning, non-annoying, good sight, supreme sight, or being born as a god in Akanistha, or in the sphere of infinite space, or in the sphere of infinite consciousness, or in the sphere of nothingness, or being born as a god in the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, needless to say, there is none. The Blessed One said: Rabjor, what do you think? By meditating on the path of sound and image, one will not completely become afflicted, nor will one become completely purified, is there such a path to meditate on? He replied: Blessed One, that is not so. Blessed One, even the sound and image themselves are completely non-existent. What path, when meditated upon, will not completely become afflicted, nor will one become completely purified? Needless to say, there is no such path to meditate on. The Blessed One said: Rabjor, what do you think? In a mirage, there is no water, yet it becomes the perception of water; there is no river, yet it becomes the perception of a river; there is no city, yet it becomes the perception of a city; there is no garden, yet it becomes the perception of a garden. By what manifest action of that path of perception will sentient beings go to hell, or go to the realm of animals, or go to the world of Yama, or be born as humans, or be born as gods in the retinue of the Four Great Kings, or the Thirty-three, or the No-Conflict, or the Joyful, or the Enjoying Emanation, or the Controlling Others' Emanations, or the Brahma Assembly, or the Brahma Retinue, or the Great Brahma, or the Small Light, or the Immeasurable Light, or the Clear Light, or small virtue, or immeasurable virtue, or increasing virtue, or cloudless, or born of merit, or great fruit, or unconscious beings, or non-abandoning, or non-annoying, or good sight, or supreme sight, or being born as a god in Akanistha, or in the sphere of infinite space, or in the sphere of infinite consciousness, or in the sphere of nothingness, or being born as a god in the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, is there such a thing? He replied: Blessed One

Having a reversed perception of a mirage that has passed, if there are no rivers, cities, and gardens at all, except for the eye seeing wrongly, then through what manifested fabrication would sentient beings go to hell, or go to the realm of animals, or go to the world of Yama, or be born as humans, or be born as gods of the retinue of the Four Great Kings, or the Thirty-three, or the No Strife, or the Joyful, or the Enjoying Emanation, or the Controlling Others' Emanations, or the Brahma Retinue, or the Brahma Before, or the Brahma Assistant, or the Great Brahma, or the Small Light, or the Immeasurable Light, or the Clear Light, or the Small Virtue, or the Immeasurable Virtue, or the Universal Virtue, or the Cloudless, or the Merit-born, or the Great Fruit, or the Unconscious Sentient Beings, or the No Affliction, or the No Heat, or the Good View, or the Good Manifestation, or be born as gods of the Akanistha, or be born in the Space Without End, or be born in the Consciousness Without End, or be born in the Nothing Whatsoever, or be born as gods of the Neither Perception Nor Non-Perception, needless to say, there is no such possibility. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, what do you think? For the reversed perception, by cultivating what path would it neither be completely defiled by afflictions nor be completely purified, would there be such a path to cultivate? He replied: Blessed One, it is not so. Blessed One, since the reversed perception itself is not truly existent, therefore by cultivating what path would it neither be completely defiled by afflictions nor be completely purified, needless to say, there is no such path to cultivate. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, what do you think? A magician conjures up various illusions, such as a group of elephants, a group of horses, a group of cows, a small troop of soldiers, the form of a woman, the form of a man, etc., and for those illusions, through what manifested fabrication would sentient beings go to hell, or go to the realm of animals, or go to the world of Yama, or be born as humans, or be born as gods of the retinue of the Four Great Kings, or the Thirty-three, or the No Strife, or the Joyful, or the Enjoying Emanation, or the Controlling Others' Emanations?
