It is not. Knowing the cessation of suffering does not completely liberate from suffering, nor does the cessation of suffering (liberate). Knowing the path does not completely liberate from suffering, nor does the path (liberate). Subhuti, what I have said to be nirvana is the equality of these four noble truths. Knowing suffering does not completely liberate from suffering, nor does suffering (liberate). Knowing the origin does not completely liberate from suffering, nor does the origin (liberate). Knowing the cessation of suffering does not completely liberate from suffering, nor does the cessation of suffering (liberate). Knowing the path does not completely liberate from suffering, nor does the path (liberate). He reported: World Honored One, where there is neither suffering, nor seeking for suffering; neither origin, nor seeking for origin; neither cessation, nor seeking for cessation; neither path, nor seeking for path, what is this called the equality of the four noble truths? The World Honored One taught: This is the suchness of those four noble truths, the non-erroneous suchness, the non-different suchness, the Dharma-nature, the Dharma-realm, the abiding nature of Dharma, the faultless nature of Dharma, the true limit. Whether the Tathagatas appear or not, it is the realm that abides in suchness, and the Dharma-realm exists without increase or decrease. Therefore, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he practices for the sake of truly understanding the truth as it is. Subhuti reported: World Honored One, how should a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practice the Perfection of Wisdom in order to practice for the sake of realizing the truth? How should he practice to realize, seek, and understand the truth, without falling into the Hearer's ground or the Solitary Buddha's ground, and enter without any faults of a Bodhisattva? The World Honored One taught: Subhuti, here, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, in any case, those dharmas...

Thus seeing that there is no object of focus in any dharma, because all dharmas are without object of focus, one sees all dharmas as emptiness, whether truly realized or not. A Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who sees in this way, without error, will abide in the ground of lineage. One who abides in the ground of lineage will not fall from the peak, will not fall into the ground of a Hearer or a Solitary Buddha, will not fall from the peak. That Bodhisattva abides in that ground of lineage and cultivates the four dhyanas. He cultivates the four immeasurables and the four formless absorptions. He abides in that ground of higher seeing and thoroughly knows all dharmas. He comprehends the four noble truths. Although he fully knows suffering, he does not generate a mind focused on suffering. Although he has completely abandoned arising, he does not generate a mind focused on arising. Although he realizes cessation, he does not generate a mind focused on cessation. Although he cultivates the path, he does not generate a mind focused on the path. Otherwise, with a mind inclined towards enlightenment, he sees all dharmas as they truly are. Asked: Blessed One, what is meant by 'as they truly are' of all dharmas? The Blessed One replied: Emptiness. Asked: What is emptiness? The Blessed One replied: Emptiness of its own nature. With such higher seeing, one looks at all dharmas as being empty. Abiding in what essence, and fully awakening to enlightenment, such an essence does not see any dharma as having an essence. The absence of things is enlightenment, which was not made by the Buddha, not made by the Solitary Buddha, not made by the Arhat, the Non-Returner, the Once-Returner, or the Stream-Enterer, nor was it made by those who entered them. Why? This enlightenment was not made even by those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who practice this. Otherwise, sentient beings have not known or seen the true reality. Therefore, Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, practicing the Perfection of Wisdom with skillful means, teach the Dharma to sentient beings.

That which is called 'Tonto' is the activity of rejoicing upon seeing the truth. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Maitreya asked the Blessed One, "Blessed One, if all dharmas are of the nature of non-substantiality, Blessed One, at that time, how should a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who practices the Perfection of Wisdom, desiring to train in the Bodhisattva's training, train in form? How should they train in feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness? How should they train in the eye sense base, ear sense base, nose sense base, tongue sense base, body sense base, and mind sense base? How should they train in the form sense base, sound sense base, smell sense base, taste sense base, touch sense base, and dharma sense base? How should they train in the eye element, form element, eye consciousness element, ear element, sound element, ear consciousness element, nose element, smell element, nose consciousness element, tongue element, taste element, tongue consciousness element, body element, touch element, body consciousness element, mind element, dharma element, and mind consciousness element? How should they train in the eye contact sense base, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind contact sense base? How should they train in ignorance, formation, consciousness, name, form, six sense bases, contact, six sense bases, contact, feeling, craving, grasping, existence, birth, old age, and death? How should they train in the truth of suffering, the truth of origin, the truth of cessation, and the truth of the path?
