However much I teach the Dharma, those teachings are heard by the ears of the gods, and having heard them, they are also grasped as they are. Having grasped them as they are, they also teach the Dharma to sentient beings as it is, teaching the words of generosity, or the words of ethics, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom, or the words of the noble truths, even teaching the words of dependent origination. He possesses a mind that is extremely pure and endowed with the knowledge of distinctions, and with that knowledge of distinctions of mind, he knows the minds of sentient beings and teaches them the Dharma as it is, teaching the words of generosity, or the words of ethics, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom, or the words of the noble truths, even teaching the words of dependent origination. He remembers many past lives of himself or others, and with the knowledge of remembering past lives, he also knows that in the past, the Tathagata, Arhat, perfectly enlightened Buddha, named so-and-so, appeared together with the monastic community of hearers. To whatever extent sentient beings are interested in remembering past lives, he teaches them the Dharma truthfully, teaching the words of generosity, or the words of ethics, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom, or the words of the noble truths, even teaching the words of dependent origination. Through miraculous powers, he goes to realms in the ten directions as numerous as the grains of sand in the Ganges River and serves the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and having served them, he teaches the Dharma to sentient beings with the wisdom of direct perception, teaching the words of generosity, or the words of ethics, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom, or the words of the noble truths, even teaching the words of dependent origination. He possesses a wisdom that is extremely pure for realizing the uncontaminated, and with that wisdom that is extremely intelligent for realizing the uncontaminated, he teaches the Dharma to sentient beings, teaching the words of generosity, or the words of ethics, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom, or the words of the noble truths, even teaching the words of dependent origination.

Thus, Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, having manifested all the superknowledges, those who are extremely familiar with the superknowledges, wishing to assume whatever kind of body, assume that very kind of body, and according to their desire, they work for the benefit of sentient beings, but they are not stained by happiness or suffering. Subhuti, just as the emanation of the Tathagata, although doing all that is needed, is not stained by happiness or suffering. Subhuti, likewise, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abiding in the Perfection of Wisdom, playing with superknowledges, in the ten directions, in realms as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, according to their desire, teaches the Dharma, but is not robbed by happiness or suffering. Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, having thus played with superknowledges, how can they purify the Buddha-fields and mature sentient beings, thus they should play. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, if they have not purified the Buddha-fields and have not matured sentient beings, cannot realize unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Subhuti, why is that? A Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who does not possess the limbs of the path does not have unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Such is the activity that delights in approaching the Buddhas and making offerings, and so forth. Subhuti said: O Blessed One, what are those paths by which a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, having perfected the limbs of the path, proceeds to realize unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, all virtuous Dharmas are the limbs of the path of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva. He said: O Blessed One.

By which branch of the path does one become manifestly and perfectly enlightened in unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment? What are those virtuous dharmas that are branches of the path? Seventy-third fascicle. The Blessed One said: From the arising of the first thought, taking hold of the virtuous dharma of the perfection of giving, yet not thinking about it, and at the time of completely relinquishing it, because of the emptiness of its own nature, this is giving. One should give to this. I shall give, not thinking about these three. By the perfection of giving, one is liberated from samsara, and others are also liberated. This is the virtuous dharma of the branch of the path. From the arising of the first thought, taking hold of the virtuous dharma of the perfection of discipline, the perfection of patience, the perfection of diligence, the perfection of meditation, and the perfection of wisdom, yet not thinking about them, and at the time of meditating on wisdom, because of the emptiness of its own nature, this is wisdom. I shall meditate on wisdom. For this purpose, I shall meditate on wisdom, not thinking about these three. By the perfection of wisdom, one is liberated from samsara, and others are also liberated. This is the virtuous dharma of the branch of the path. From the arising of the first thought, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, in all virtuous dharmas, emptiness, all the dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment, the four noble truths, the four meditations, the four immeasurables, the four formless absorptions, the eight liberations, the nine successive abidings in absorption, the door of liberation of emptiness, the door of liberation of signlessness, the door of liberation of wishlessness, the superknowledges, the samadhis, the doors of dharanis, the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical understandings, great compassion, and the eighteen unshared dharmas of the Buddha, although practicing in these, yet not thinking about them, and at the time of meditating on the eighteen unshared dharmas of the Buddha, because of the emptiness of their own nature, these are the unshared dharmas of the Buddha.
