without limits, without aspirations, and with supernormal knowledges, or with samādhis, or with the doors of dhāraṇīs, or with the powers of the thus-gone ones, or with fearlessnesses, or with individual perfect knowledges, or with great love, or with great compassion, exert effort in those unshared qualities of a buddha, and do not think of those qualities as dual, and do not think of them as nondual. Why is that? Those qualities are empty of intrinsic nature, and emptiness of intrinsic nature is not to be thought of as dual, and is not to be thought of as nondual. Subhūti, in that way, when a bodhisattva mahāsattva engages in the perfection of wisdom, through skillful means, he fully ripens beings in emptiness of intrinsic nature, and having fully ripened them, he gradually establishes them in the fruit of stream-enterer, the fruit of once-returner, the fruit of non-returner, arhatship, and self-awakening. He also well establishes them in knowledge of the aspects of the path, and unsurpassed perfect complete awakening. Subhūti, furthermore, when a bodhisattva mahāsattva engages in the perfection of wisdom, through skillful means, he admonishes and shows beings whose minds are distracted with these words: "Come here, sons of good family, meditate on samādhi! Do not think of distraction, and do not think of samādhi." Why is that? Those qualities are empty of intrinsic nature, and in emptiness of intrinsic nature, there is nothing to be fixated on as a quality that is distracted or one-pointed. When you abide in that samādhi and engage in emptiness of intrinsic nature, whatever virtuous qualities you do with body, speech, and mind, whether you give generosity, or keep ethics, or cultivate patience, or exert effort, or develop concentration, or cultivate wisdom, or engage in inner emptiness, or engage between emptiness of the nature of non-things, or in the mindfulnesses, or in the perfect abandonments, or in the legs of magical power, or in the faculties, or in the powers, or in the limbs of awakening, or in

Does one practice the eightfold path of the noble way? Does one practice the noble truths, the dhyanas, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, the eight liberations, the nine successive abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, the superknowledges, the samadhis, the gateways of dharani? Does one practice the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, great loving-kindness, great compassion, great joy, great equanimity, the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha? Does one practice the thirty-two marks of a great being? Does one practice the eighty minor marks? Does one practice the path of the Hearers and the path of the Solitary Buddhas? Does one practice the path of the Bodhisattvas and the path of the Buddhas? Does one practice the fruit of Stream-enterer, the fruit of Once-returner, the fruit of Non-returner, Arhatship itself, Solitary Awakening? Does one practice up to the state of Omniscience? Does one practice for the purpose of fully ripening sentient beings? Does one practice for the purpose of fully purifying the Buddha-fields? It can also be said that one chooses and subsequently indicates, saying: 'These virtuous dharmas will be accomplished with very little effort.' Subhuti, in this way, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, with skillful means, he benefits sentient beings. From the moment of generating the first thought of enlightenment until the end, he will not be inactive, but will seek all virtuous dharmas and benefit sentient beings. He will constantly and continuously make offerings to the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and will completely travel from Buddha-field to Buddha-field. The dharma that he obtains from those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, will never be in vain, even if he is reborn countless times until he has not yet fully awakened to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. He will constantly and continuously obtain dharani, and the faculties of his body, speech, or mind will not deteriorate. Why is that? Because it is like this, a Bodhisattva

That great Bodhisattva, by constantly and continuously cultivating the all-knowingness, will thereby cultivate all paths diligently. Whether it be the path of the Hearer, or the path of the Solitary Buddha, or the path of the Bodhisattva, or the path of the Buddha, all will be cultivated diligently. Whatever superknowledges benefit the Bodhisattva Mahasattva in a way that is not wasteful, those too will be cultivated diligently. If one dwells in the superknowledges arising from maturation and performs deeds for the benefit of sentient beings, even revolving in the cycle of the five destinies, one will not completely degenerate from the all-knowingness. Subhuti, in this way, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva engages in the Perfection of Wisdom, he abides in the emptiness of inherent existence and benefits sentient beings through skillful means. Furthermore, Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva engages in the Perfection of Wisdom, abiding in the emptiness of inherent existence, if he sees sentient beings with unstable wisdom and small minds, he advises and instructs them thus: "Come, son of good family, whatever actions of body, speech, and mind you may do, realize that all of them are empty of inherent existence. Then, all your actions will become the fruit of nectar, and ultimately become nectar. In the emptiness of inherent existence, there is nothing that will manifest, nor will anything degenerate; there is no such dharma. Why is that? Because the emptiness of inherent existence does not degenerate. In the emptiness of inherent existence, there is also no dharma that will degenerate. Why is that? Because the emptiness of inherent existence is neither existent nor nonexistent. When all dharmas are of the nature of nonexistence, what could possibly degenerate?" Subhuti, in this way, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva engages in the Perfection of Wisdom, He advises and instructs sentient beings through skillful means. When advising and instructing in this way, there is never a failure to accomplish. This is also why I have correctly taken up and abide in the path of the ten virtuous actions. Others
