showed the fruit of, showed the fruit of generosity and the fruit of morality, showed the fruit of generosity and the fruit of morality, and also showed that its essence is emptiness, therefore, the son of the family, knowing that the fruit of generosity and morality is empty in nature, will not be attached to it. Without attachment, one will not be disturbed and will generate wisdom. Wisdom can also cut off all latent tendencies and manifestations, and thus completely pass into the realm of nirvana without residue, but this is not the ultimate meaning of worldly terms. Why is that? Because in emptiness, there is nothing that can be completely extinguished, nor is there any dharma that can be called completely extinguished, and such a dharma cannot be found. What is called nirvana is like this: transcendence of extremes is emptiness. Furthermore, Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, if he sees sentient beings harboring malice towards each other and filled with anger, he should advise and instruct them thus: Son of good family, practice patience! Cultivate patience! Be gentle, peaceful, and calm within. Whatever harms, whatever is harmed, and whatever is harmed, all these dharmas are empty in nature. Son of good family, who is harming? Who is being harmed? With what is one harming? All these minds and dharmas are empty in nature, and whatever is empty in nature will never become non-empty, and this is not made by the Tathagatas, nor by the Bodhisattvas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Sravakas, nor by the Devas, Nagas, Yakshas, Gandharvas, Asuras, Garudas, Kinnaras, and Mahoragas, nor by the Devas of the Four Great Kings, nor by the Thirty-three, Yama, Tushita, Nirmāṇarati, Paranirmitavasavartin, Brahma, Abhasvara, Subhakrtsna, Anabhraka, nor by the Heaven of Infinite Space, the Heaven of Infinite Consciousness, the Heaven of Nothingness.

of rebirth, and the gods of the realm of neither perception nor non-perception did not create it. That is also always empty of inherent existence. Emptiness of inherent existence does not harm anyone. If asked: Subhuti, is it so that when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he skillfully connects sentient beings with emptiness of inherent existence and cause and effect, establishes them in emptiness of inherent existence, and gradually reveals the unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment, truly encourages, truly praises, truly makes joyful, tames, trains, and establishes well. But that is not the ultimate truth of worldly convention. Why is that? Because in emptiness of inherent existence, there is no one who obtains, no one who can obtain, and nothing to be obtained. Subhuti, this is the true ultimate emptiness, abiding in it, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom for the benefit of sentient beings, without attachment to sentient beings, and without attachment to the designation of sentient beings. Why is that? Because all phenomena are devoid of sentient beings. Subhuti, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he skillfully sees sentient beings who are lazy and have little diligence, and thus truly encourages diligence with body, speech, and mind: Noble sons, in emptiness of inherent existence, there is no Dharma that shrinks, ceases, or becomes lazy, nor is there anyone who shrinks, ceases, or becomes lazy, nor is there anything that causes shrinking, ceasing, or becoming lazy, nor is there any Dharma of shrinking, ceasing, or becoming lazy. All those Dharmas do not go beyond emptiness of inherent existence, so generate diligence with body, speech, and mind, abandon laziness, and practice virtuous Dharmas such as generosity, or discipline, or patience, or diligence, or meditation, or wisdom, or emptiness of the interior, up to emptiness of the non-entity of essential nature, or mindfulness, or right abandonment, or miraculous feet, or faculties, or powers.

The limbs of enlightenment, or the eightfold noble path, or the noble truths, or the meditations, or the immeasurables, or the formless absorptions, or the liberations, or the successive abidings in absorption, or emptiness, as well as signlessness, wishlessness, and clairvoyance, or samādhis, or the gateways of dhāraṇī, or the ten powers of the Tathāgata, or the four fearlessnesses, or the individual perfect knowledges, great love and great compassion, and the unshared qualities of the Buddhas, you should strive diligently. Sons of good family, realize all those dharmas without obstruction through emptiness. In the unobstructed dharma, there is no weakness or shrinking back. Thus, Subhūti, when a bodhisattva-mahāsattva engages in the Perfection of Wisdom, through skillful means, he truly shows beings the emptiness of intrinsic emptiness, truly encourages them, truly praises them, truly gladdens them, tames them, trains them, and establishes them well. In any case, he does not abide in duality, and thus establishes them well. Why is that? Intrinsic emptiness is non-dual, it cannot be made dual. A non-dual dharma does not abide anywhere. Subhūti, furthermore, when a bodhisattva-mahāsattva engages in the Perfection of Wisdom, through skillful means, he selects and accordingly shows beings diligence in intrinsic emptiness: Come, son of good family, giving, or ethics, or patience, or diligence, or meditation, or wisdom, or inner emptiness, up to the emptiness of the nature of non-things, or the mindfulnesses, or the perfect abandonments, or the legs of magical power, or the faculties, or the powers, or the limbs of enlightenment, or the eightfold noble path, or the noble truths, or the meditations, or the immeasurables, or the formless absorptions, or the liberations, or the successive abidings in absorption, or emptiness, with
