There is no gathering. Thus, emptiness by its own nature is the door to emptiness liberation. Being free from characteristics is the door to signlessness liberation. Having no manifestation of fabrication is the door to wishlessness liberation. The Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who trains in these three doors of liberation trains in the five aggregates. Trains in the twelve sources. Trains in the eighteen elements. Trains in the twelve limbs of dependent origination. Trains in the six perfections. Trains in inner emptiness. Trains in the emptiness of the nature of non-things. Trains in the four mindfulnesses. Trains in the four perfect abandonments. Trains in the four legs of magical power. Trains in the five faculties. Trains in the five powers. Trains in the seven branches of enlightenment. Trains in the eightfold noble path. Trains in the four noble truths. Trains in the four concentrations. Trains in the four immeasurables. Trains in the four formless absorptions. Trains in the eight liberations. Trains in the nine successive abidings. Trains in emptiness. Trains in signlessness. Trains in wishlessness. Trains in all superknowledges. Trains in all samadhis. Trains in all dharani gates. Trains in the ten powers of the Tathagata. Trains in the four fearlessnesses. Trains in the four analytical knowledges. Trains in great love. Trains in great compassion. Trains in the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha. Trains up to all-knowingness. The venerable Subhuti asked: "Lord, in what way does a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, when practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, train in the five aggregates of appropriation?" The Lord replied: "Subhuti, in this case, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he thoroughly knows form, thoroughly knows how form arises, thoroughly knows how form ceases, and thoroughly knows what the suchness of form is like. How does he know form? It is like a collection of bubbles, without essence, extremely perishable, and extremely loose.

Knowing thoroughly that it is utterly without essence, thus one knows form. How does one know the arising and ceasing of form? Form does not come from anywhere, nor does it go anywhere, therefore it does not come from anywhere, nor does it go anywhere; knowing that it has not come from anywhere, it has not gone anywhere, thus one knows the arising and ceasing of form. How does one know the suchness of form? The suchness of form is unborn, unceasing, without coming, without going, not utterly afflicted, not utterly purified, not decreasing, not increasing, not inverted, abiding in suchness; therefore it is called suchness.

Neither arising nor ceasing, neither coming nor going. It is not completely afflicted, not completely purified, not decreasing, not increasing. That is inverted, not truly existing. Therefore, it is called Suchness. Thus, the Suchness of feeling is known. How are formations known? For example, just as if the bark of a tree is peeled off separately, the heartwood is very difficult to find, so it should be understood. Thus, formations are known. How are the arising and ceasing of formations known? Formations do not come from anywhere, nor do they go anywhere, so they do not come from anywhere, nor do they go anywhere. Know that what has not come from anywhere will not go anywhere. Thus, the arising and ceasing of formations are known. How is the Suchness of formations known? The Suchness of formations is neither arising nor ceasing, neither coming nor going. It is not completely afflicted, not completely purified, not decreasing, not increasing. It is not inverted, but truly existing. Therefore, it is called Suchness. Thus, the Suchness of formations is known. How is consciousness known? For example, it should be understood like the four limbs of an army conjured by a magician. Thus, consciousness is known. How are the arising and ceasing of consciousness known? Consciousness does not come from anywhere, nor does it go anywhere, so it does not come from anywhere, nor does it go anywhere. Know that what has not come from anywhere will not go anywhere. This is knowing the arising and ceasing of consciousness. How is the Suchness of consciousness known? The Suchness of consciousness is neither arising nor ceasing, neither coming nor going. It is not completely afflicted, not completely purified, not decreasing, not increasing. It is not inverted, but truly existing. Therefore, it is called Suchness. Thus, the Suchness of consciousness is known. How are the sense bases known?
