Is perfect enlightenment conditioned or unconditioned? He replied: O Blessed One, it is unconditioned. The Sugata is unconditioned. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, is there then a distinction in the unconditioned dharma? He replied: O Blessed One, no. The Blessed One said: What do you think, Subhuti? When a son or daughter of good family, with respect to conditioned or unconditioned dharmas, such as when the signless is merged into one sign, is there then any distinction made between conditioned or unconditioned dharmas? He replied: O Blessed One, no. The Blessed One said: Similarly, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he focuses on such things as the emptiness of the internal and the emptiness of the nature of non-things, and does not teach the Dharma by distinguishing between sentient beings. These are also the Perfection of Giving, or the Perfection of Morality, or the Perfection of Patience, or the Perfection of Diligence, or the Perfection of Meditation, or the Perfection of Wisdom, or the first Dhyana, or the second Dhyana, or the third Dhyana, or the fourth Dhyana, or Loving-kindness, or Compassion, or Joy, or Equanimity, or the absorption of the sphere of infinite space, or the absorption of the sphere of infinite consciousness, or the absorption of the sphere of nothingness, or the absorption of the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, or the mindfulness, or the perfect abandonment, or the miraculous feet, or the faculties, or the powers, or the limbs of enlightenment, or the path, or the noble truths, or the meditations, or the immeasurables, or the formless absorptions, or the liberations, or the successive abidings, or emptiness, or signlessness, or wishlessness, or the superknowledges, or the samadhis, or the doors of dharanis, or the Tathagata.

Or the powers of entering, or the fearlessnesses, or the individual perfect knowledges, or the great love, or the great compassion, or the Buddha's unmixed dharmas, or even up to the all-knowingness itself, there is no manifest attachment to any dharma. Because there is no manifest attachment to it, there is no attachment to anything. For example, the emanation of the Thus-Gone One, even when giving alms, has no attachment to the fruit of alms, and does not experience the fruit of alms. Furthermore, alms are given for the purpose of completely liberating all sentient beings from suffering. The perfection of discipline, the perfection of patience, the perfection of diligence, the perfection of meditation, the perfection of wisdom, and the dharmas with outflows and without outflows, the mundane and the supramundane, Even when meditating on the conditioned and the unconditioned dharmas, there is no attachment to the fruit of the conditioned and unconditioned dharmas. The fruit of the conditioned and unconditioned dharmas is not experienced. Furthermore, for the purpose of completely liberating all sentient beings from suffering, the conditioned and unconditioned dharmas are meditated upon. Subhuti, likewise, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva also practices the six perfections and all dharmas, but has no dwelling or attachment to any dharma. Why is that? Because he does not fully comprehend the nature of dharmas. Then, the venerable Subhuti said this to the Blessed One: Blessed One, how does the Bodhisattva Mahasattva fully understand the nature of dharmas? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, an emanation does not fully engage in desire, hatred, and delusion. It does not fully engage in latent tendencies and manifestations. It does not fully engage in all internal and external dharmas. It does not fully engage in dharmas with outflows and without outflows. It does not fully engage in conditioned and unconditioned dharmas. It does not fully engage in form. And feeling, perception

Neither are formations nor consciousness to be appropriated. Neither are the sense-fields, the elements, nor dependent origination to be appropriated. Neither are the perfections, all emptiness, nor the thirty-seven wings of enlightenment to be appropriated. Neither are the noble truths, the meditations, the immeasurables, nor the formless absorptions to be appropriated. Neither are the eight liberations, the nine serial abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, nor the superknowledges to be appropriated. Neither are the concentrations nor the gateways of dharani to be appropriated. Neither are the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four particular exact knowledges, great love, great compassion, nor the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha to be appropriated. Up to all-knowledge itself, there is nothing to be appropriated. Subhuti, likewise, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva also does not appropriate any dharmas. Subhuti, thus a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva thoroughly understands the characteristic of the dharma of all dharmas. The Sixty-eighth Fascicle. Asked: "Bhagavan, even if an emanation relies on cultivating the path, it will not become defiled, nor will it become purified, nor will it appear in the cycle of the five destinies, so what is the use of cultivating the path?" The Bhagavan said: "Subhuti, what do you think? Does the emanation of the Tathagata rely on some entity and become defiled, or become purified, or appear in the cycle of the five destinies? Is there any such entity?" Asked: "Bhagavan, that is not so. Bhagavan, there is no such entity that the emanation of the Tathagata relies on and becomes defiled, or becomes purified, or is liberated from the cycle of the five destinies." The Bhagavan said: "Subhuti, thus a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva thoroughly
