When a great hero practices the Perfection of Wisdom, if he sees all those dharmas as empty, he teaches the Dharma to sentient beings who have become inverted, and teaches them in such a way that they do not enter into emptiness either. Having seen it in this way, he knows that all dharmas are without obstruction, and he does not disturb or make duality in any dharma, and he also teaches it as it is in reality. Subhuti, for example, the emanation of the Tathagata emanates into hundreds of thousands of billions of emanations, some cause to practice the Perfection of Generosity, some cause to practice the Perfection of Discipline, some cause to practice the Perfection of Patience, some cause to practice the Perfection of Diligence, some cause to practice the Perfection of Meditation, some cause to practice the Perfection of Wisdom, some cause to practice the Four Dhyanas, some cause to practice the Four Immeasurables, some cause to practice the Four Formless Absorptions, some cause to practice the Thirty-seven Factors of Enlightenment, some cause to practice the Four Noble Truths, some cause to practice the Eight Liberations, some cause to practice the Nine Successive Abidings, some cause to practice Emptiness, Signlessness, Wishlessness, some cause to practice the Five Superknowledges, some cause to practice all Samadhis, some cause to practice all Dharani Gates, some cause to practice the Ten Powers of the Tathagata, some cause to practice the Four Fearlessnesses, some cause to practice the Four Analytical Knowledges, some cause to practice Great Love, some cause to practice Great Compassion, some cause to practice the Eighteen Unshared Dharmas of the Buddha. Some cause to practice the Fruit of Stream-entry, some cause to practice the Fruit of Once-returner, some cause to practice the Fruit of Non-returner, some cause to practice the Arhatship, some cause to practice Solitary Enlightenment, some cause to practice up to Omniscience. Subhuti, what do you think? Does that emanation make various distinctions among the dharmas? He replied: Bhagavan, no. The Bhagavan said: Subhuti, likewise, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he teaches the Dharma to sentient beings, and having completely liberated them from all inversions, to those who are neither bound nor liberated.

Thus, it is properly and truly established. Why is that? Subhuti, it is like this: form is neither bound nor liberated; feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness are neither bound nor liberated; even all-knowingness is neither bound nor liberated. Whatever is the non-binding and non-liberation of form, that is not form. The non-binding and non-liberation nature of feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness is not consciousness. Even the non-binding and non-liberation nature of all-knowingness is not all-knowingness. Why is that? Because form is utterly pure. Feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness are utterly pure. Even all-knowingness is utterly pure. Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom in that way, although he teaches the Dharma to sentient beings, he does not perceive sentient beings. A Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abides in the non-perception of all dharmas in the manner of that non-perception, that is, he abides in the manner of non-perception of the emptiness of form, the manner of non-perception of the emptiness of feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness, and the manner of non-perception of the emptiness of even all-knowingness. He does not abide in any of the conditioned and unconditioned dharmas. Why is that? Because the nature of what is to be abided in is not perceived. Non-things do not abide in non-things, self-nature does not abide in self-nature, and other things do not abide in other things. Why is that? Because all of them are unobservable. Whatever is unobservable does not abide in anything. Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom in that way, all those dharmas are the distinctions of all emptiness. Subhuti, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices the Perfection of Wisdom in that way, the Buddha, the Blessed One,

Should not be blamed by the Buddhas who have passed away, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, the Pratyekabuddhas, the Shravakas, and all the Aryas. Why is that? Because these Tathagata-Bhagavats, and these Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, these Pratyekabuddhas, and these Shravakas, have also realized the suchness of Dharma. Having realized the suchness of Dharma, they teach the Dharma to sentient beings, and this does not transcend the suchness of all Dharmas. Why is that? Because, Subhuti, the realm of Dharma is immutable. Suchness and the ultimate reality are immutable. Why is that? Because they also do not have the nature of being transcended. Then, the venerable Subhuti said to the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, if that is the case, there is no transcendence of the realm of Dharma, and there is no transcendence of suchness and the ultimate reality, then, is form different from the realm of Dharma, is suchness different, is the ultimate reality different? Are feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness also different from the realm of Dharma, is suchness different, is the ultimate reality different? Even up to all-knowingness, is it different from the realm of Dharma, is suchness different, is the ultimate reality different? The Bhagavan said: Subhuti, that is not so. Form is not different from the realm of Dharma, suchness is not different, the ultimate reality is not different. Feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness are not different from the realm of Dharma, suchness is not different, the ultimate reality is not different. Even up to all-knowingness, it is not different. The realm of Dharma is not different, suchness is not different, the ultimate reality is not different. Subhuti asked: Bhagavan, if that is the case, form is not different from the realm of Dharma, suchness is not different, the ultimate reality is not different. Feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness are not different from the realm of Dharma, suchness is not different, the ultimate reality is not different.
