Now, like this, foolish children without learning, each individually, are attached to the five aggregates, and are attached to form. They are attached to feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness. They are attached to the sense bases, realms, and dependent origination. They are attached to all the perfections, all of emptiness, and the dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment. They are attached to the noble truths, meditative stabilization, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, liberation, the successive abidings of meditative stabilization, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, extrasensory perception, samadhi, and the doors of dharani. They are attached to the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, great love, great compassion, and the unshared qualities of the Buddha. They are attached up to all-knowingness. They generate pride with form and focus on form. They generate pride with feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness, and focus on consciousness. They generate pride with the sense bases, realms, and dependent origination, and focus on dependent origination. They generate pride with all the perfections, all of emptiness, and the dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment, and focus on the aspects of enlightenment. They generate pride with the noble truths, meditative stabilization, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, liberation, the successive abidings of meditative stabilization, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, extrasensory perception, samadhi, and the doors of dharani, and focus on the doors of dharani.

Focusing on perfect and complete enlightenment, thinking, 'I shall attain perfect and complete enlightenment.' Thinking, 'I shall liberate sentient beings from samsara,' they contemplate in this way, yet they perceive it as unreal. Why is that? Subhuti, it is because form, feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness, as well as the sense bases, the elements, dependent origination, all the perfections, all emptinesses, the factors of enlightenment, the noble truths, meditative stabilization, the immeasurables, the formless absorptions, liberation, the successive abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, extrasensory perception, samadhi, the gateways of dharani, the ten powers, fearlessness, the individual perfect knowledges, great love, great compassion, the unmixed qualities of a Buddha, and unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment are not perceived even by the five eyes of a Buddha. Those foolish, blind, eyeless beings desire to liberate sentient beings from samsara. The questioner said: Blessed One, since the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened Buddha's five eyes do not see any sentient being who needs to be completely liberated from samsara, Blessed One, then how did the Blessed One, after perfectly awakening to unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment, make predictions about sentient beings as the three groups of those who are rightly destined, those who are not destined, and those who are wrongly destined? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, after I perfectly awakened to unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment, I did not perceive any sentient beings who were rightly destined, not destined, or wrongly destined. Subhuti, however, those sentient beings who perceive what is nonexistent as existent, their release from clinging to what is unreal is merely a convention of the world; it is not so in ultimate reality. The questioner said: Blessed One, abiding in ultimate reality, unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment
