Everything is devoid of inherent existence. Since all mental activities are empty of inherent nature, how can a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva not be separated from mental activities that are endowed with the knowledge of all aspects? In not being separated from mental activities, a Bodhisattva does not focus. Mental activities are not focused on. The knowledge of all aspects is not focused on. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva knows that all dharmas are devoid of inherent existence, and that these are not made by Sravakas, not made by Pratyekabuddhas, not made by the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, but that the nature of dharmas, the abiding nature of dharmas, the determined nature of dharmas, suchness, unerroneous suchness, non-other suchness, the element of dharma, the ultimate reality, are abiding, then that Bodhisattva-Mahasattva is not separated from the Perfection of Wisdom. Why is that? Subhuti, it is because the Perfection of Wisdom is inherently peaceful and empty of inherent nature. There is no increase or decrease in it. This is called the second kind of increase. Asked: Blessed One, if the Perfection of Wisdom is inherently peaceful and empty of inherent nature, then, Blessed One, how can a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva truly practice in the Perfection of Wisdom and attain unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, even if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva truly practices in the Perfection of Wisdom, there is no increase or decrease. There is no increase or decrease in the ultimate reality. There is no increase or decrease in the element of dharma. Why is that? The Perfection of Wisdom is neither one nor two. Subhuti, if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva's mind does not sink, does not shrink back, does not fear, does not panic, and does not become frightened when hearing this said, then that Bodhisattva-Mahasattva
