Fifth, the chapter called "Complete Purification of the Training" at the Time of Peak Realization. Fifth, the chapter called "Complete Purification of the Training" at the Time of Peak Realization. The Peak Combination of Signs. Then, the Blessed One again said to the Venerable Subhuti: "Subhuti, if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, even in a dream, sees all dharmas as being like a dream, sees all dharmas as being like an echo, like an optical illusion, like an illusion, like a city of gandharvas, and actualizes it, Subhuti, this should be known as the characteristic of non-retrogression of a non-retrogressing Bodhisattva-Mahasattva. This is the first sign." "Subhuti, furthermore, if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, even in a dream, does not generate a mind desiring the Hearer's Ground, or the Solitary Buddha's Ground, or the Three Realms, and does not generate a pleasant mind, Subhuti, this should be known as a sign of non-retrogression of a non-retrogressing Bodhisattva-Mahasattva. This is the second sign." "Subhuti, furthermore, if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, even in a dream, sees the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened One, with countless hundreds of thousands of attendants, countless thousands of attendants, countless hundreds of thousands of attendants, countless kotis of attendants, countless hundreds of thousands of kotis of attendants, countless hundreds of thousands of kotis of attendants, countless hundreds of thousands of nayuta kotis of attendants, surrounded and preceded by many bhikshus, bhikshunis, upasakas, upasikas, gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, and mahoragas, teaching the Dharma, and hears that Dharma, and after hearing, understands the meaning of that Dharma, enters and abides in the Dharma that is in accordance with the Dharma, and after entering the Dharma that is in accordance with the Dharma, practices it, Subhuti, this should also be known as the characteristic of non-retrogression of a non-retrogressing Bodhisattva-Mahasattva. This is the third sign. Furthermore, Subhuti, if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, even in a dream, sees the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened One, appearing in the sky and teaching the Dharma to the Sangha of monks, possessing the thirty-two marks of a great man, having a halo of one fathom, showing many miracles and wonders, creating many emanations, and also sees those emanations performing the deeds of a Buddha in other world realms, Subhuti, this should also be known as a sign of the irreversibility of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva. This is the fourth sign. Furthermore, Subhuti, if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, even in a dream, sees a village destroyed, a city destroyed, a fire breaking out, or sees fierce wild animals, or sees the appearance of other ferocious beasts, or sees a head being cut off, or sees other terrifying and unpleasant and frightening things, or sees suffering, discomfort, and strife, or sees hunger or thirst, or sees a father die, or a mother die, or a brother die, or a sister die, or a friend or relative die, they will not feel sorrow, fear, dread, or universal terror; they will not be afraid, they will not be universally afraid, they will not be seized by universal terror. After having that dream, the next day they will think: 'Alas! These three realms are also like a dream. I too shall awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, and then show all beings of the three realms that everything is like a dream.' Subhuti, this should also be known as a sign of the irreversibility of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva. This is the fifth sign. Furthermore, Subhuti, after an irreversible Bodhisattva-Mahasattva awakens to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, how is it known that at that time, in the Buddha-field, the three lower realms will disappear in all places, in all ways, and in all aspects? If a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva thinks in a dream,

Have you seen sentient beings in the hell realm? Have you seen sentient beings in the animal realm? Have you seen sentient beings in the realm of Yama? Having gained any recollection, one thinks thus: After I have manifestly and perfectly awakened to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, in that Buddha-field, may all three lower realms completely disappear in every way. I will act in this way. One gains such a recollection. Why is that? Because whatever a dream is, and whatever the end of a dream is, they are non-dual and without duality. Subhuti, this should also be understood as the characteristic of non-retrogression of a bodhisattva-mahasattva who is irreversible, this is the sixth sign. Furthermore, Subhuti, if a bodhisattva-mahasattva, in a dream or while awake, sees a city being burned by fire, one thinks thus: In my dream or while awake, whatever aspects, whatever signs, and whatever characteristics I see, and the bodhisattva-mahasattva who possesses those aspects, signs, and characteristics, those aspects, those signs, and those characteristics by which one should understand that one is irreversible, if I possess those, by this truth and true words, may that city being burned by fire be pacified, cooled, and disappear. Thinking thus, whether asleep or awake, whatever aspects, whatever signs, and whatever characteristics one sees, if one possesses those aspects, those signs, and those characteristics by which a bodhisattva-mahasattva is irreversible, by that truth and true words, may the burning of the city be pacified, cooled, and disappear. Thinking thus, if it is pacified, cooled, and disappears, Subhuti, that bodhisattva-mahasattva should be understood as having received the prediction of irreversibility from unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Subhuti, if that mass of fire transcends that true speech and burns from house to house, from street to street, some houses are burned, some houses are not burned, some lanes are burned, some lanes are not burned, then, Su
