To cultivate the notion of "being" and cause it to perish is to cultivate the Perfection of Wisdom. How is it that cultivating the notions of permanence, impermanence, happiness, suffering, self, non-self, peace, and non-peace, and causing them to perish, is cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom? How is it that cultivating the dharmas of the path to enlightenment and causing them to perish is cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom? How is it that cultivating emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness samadhi, the eight liberations, the nine successive abidings of meditative absorption, and causing them to perish, is cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom? How is it that cultivating samadhi with investigation and analysis, samadhi with only analysis and no investigation, and samadhi with neither investigation nor analysis, and causing them to perish, is cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom? How is it that cultivating the noble truth of suffering, the noble truth of the origin, the noble truth of cessation, the noble truth of the path, and knowing suffering, knowing the origin, knowing cessation, knowing the path, knowing exhaustion, knowing the dharma, knowing the subsequent conduct, knowing the conventional, knowing familiarity, knowing as sound, and causing them to perish, is cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom? How is it that cultivating all the perfections and all emptiness, and causing them to perish, is cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom? How is it that cultivating the six superknowledges, all samadhis, all dharani gates, the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, great love, great compassion, the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, and causing them to perish, is cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom? How is it that cultivating the fruit of stream-enterer, the fruit of once-returner, the fruit of non-returner, the Arhat
