O sons of gods, thus the Tathagata has manifestly and completely awakened to all dharmas as being without characteristics. Therefore, the Tathagata is said to be one who possesses the wisdom of non-attachment. This is knowing the absence of characteristics. Then, the Blessed One spoke to the venerable Subhuti, saying: Subhuti, this perfection of wisdom is what brings forth the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly and completely awakened Buddha. It reveals this world. Therefore, the Tathagatas rely on and abide in this dharma of the perfection of wisdom. This is knowing that one abides by relying on one's own dharma. Thus, one serves the dharma, makes it one's teacher, respects it, makes offerings to it, remembers it, and honors it. Subhuti, this dharma-nature is the perfection of wisdom. Therefore, the Tathagata serves, makes it one's teacher, respects, makes offerings, remembers, and honors this perfection of wisdom. Why is that? Subhuti, the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, arise from the perfection of wisdom. Subhuti, the Tathagata is one who knows what has been done. Subhuti, if someone speaks truly, saying that one knows what has been done and feels gratitude for it, then that person is truly speaking of the Tathagata as knowing what has been done and feeling gratitude for it. Subhuti, how does the Tathagata know what has been done and feel gratitude for it? Subhuti, the Tathagata serves, makes it one's teacher, respects, makes offerings, remembers, honors, follows, and protects the vehicle by which the Tathagata has come and the path by which he has manifestly and completely awakened to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Subhuti, the Tathagata should be regarded as one who knows what has been done and is able to discern gratitude. This is knowing through reverence and so forth. Subhuti, furthermore, the Tathagata
