Suchness is it. The suchness of all dharmas that have passed, will come, and are present, that is the suchness of stream-entry. The suchness of stream-entry, that is the suchness of the fruit of stream-entry. The suchness of the fruit of stream-entry, that is the suchness of the fruit of once-returner. The suchness of the fruit of once-returner, that is the suchness of the fruit of non-returner. The suchness of the fruit of non-returner, that is the suchness of arhat-ness itself. The suchness of arhat-ness itself, that is the suchness of the fruit of arhat. The suchness of the fruit of arhat, that is the suchness of the solitary buddha. The suchness of the solitary buddha, that is the suchness of self-enlightenment. The suchness of self-enlightenment, that is the suchness of unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment. The suchness of unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment, that is the suchness of the tathagata. The suchness of the tathagata, that is the suchness of all sentient beings. Thus, the suchness of the tathagata and the suchness of all sentient beings, that is the single suchness itself, that is the spontaneously accomplished suchness. The spontaneously accomplished suchness, that is inexhaustible. The inexhaustible is non-dual by its very inexhaustibility, and cannot be made into two. Subhuti, the suchness of all dharmas, the tathagata, relying on this prajnaparamita, manifestly realized and became enlightened. Subhuti, therefore, this prajnaparamita is what gives birth to the tathagatas. Subhuti, thus this prajnaparamita is what acts as the teacher of the world. Subhuti, thus the tathagata, arhat, perfectly complete buddha, has understood the suchness of all dharmas. The unerring suchness, and the non-other.

having comprehended suchness. By what suchness is the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened One, called? Subhuti said: "Lord, it is like this: the suchness of all dharmas, the unerroneous suchness, the non-different suchness, this is profound. Lord, this suchness shows the enlightenment of the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones. Lord, who else would believe in this except for the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who are irreversible, those who have excellent views, and the Arhats who have exhausted their defilements? Lord, this Dharma, which the Tathagata has spoken after having manifestly awakened to it, is extremely profound!" The Blessed One said: "Subhuti, it is like this: suchness is inexhaustible. Why is it inexhaustible? Because all dharmas are inexhaustible, it is the inexhaustible suchness. Subhuti, suchness is what the Tathagata has spoken after having manifestly awakened to unexcelled, perfect enlightenment, namely, the suchness of all dharmas. Thus, it is said to be the supreme and true declaration and establishment of the suchness of the Perfectly Awakened One." Then, in this threefold great thousandfold world, all the sons of the gods in the desire realm and the form realm, holding celestial sandalwood powder, went to where the Blessed One was, and having arrived, they bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One and sat down on one side. Having sat down on one side, those sons of the gods in the desire realm and the form realm said to the Blessed One: "Lord, if the Prajnaparamita is taught, what is the characteristic of the Prajnaparamita, O sons of the gods?" The Blessed One said: "Sons of the gods, the characteristic of this profound Prajnaparamita is emptiness. Sons of the gods, the characteristic of this profound Prajnaparamita is signlessness. Sons of the gods,
