Taken, understood, held, recited, prostrated, and thought of returning. Kauśika, therefore, a son or daughter of good family should generate such a thought: "How many sons of gods of the retinue of the Four Great Kings of the ten directions of the world there are, and how many sons of gods up to Akanistha have entered into unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment, and how many sons of gods of the retinue of the Pure Abodes there are, and also gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, how many there are, may they also come here and take this Perfection of Wisdom, understand, hold, recite, make offerings, prostrate, and think of returning, and may this Dharma gift be given to them, may this gift be realized." The sons of gods of the retinue of the Four Great Kings of the ten directions of the world, how many have entered into unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment, and how many sons of gods of the retinue of the Pure Abodes there are, may they also come here and take this Perfection of Wisdom, hold, recite, understand, make offerings, prostrate, and pay homage, and then return. The son or daughter of good family, for them, the gods of the retinue of the Four Great Kings of this three-thousand great-thousand world system, and how many sons of gods up to Akanistha there are, and the sons of gods of the retinue of the Four Great Kings of the ten directions of the world, and how many sons of gods up to Akanistha there are, may they also protect, save, and hide this son or daughter of good family. Apart from the ripening of karma, those who seek opportunities and find fault will not find an opportunity. Kauśika, the son or daughter of good family will also fully obtain such qualities in this life. Why is that? Thus, whatever sons of gods have entered into unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment, may they also come here.

Furthermore, regarding the mind: Kausika, in this way, those sons of the gods who, for the sake of protecting all sentient beings, benefiting them, and bringing them happiness, have truly entered into the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, this is the middle level of great desire for the benefit of oneself and others. Then, the lord of the gods, Indra, addressed the Blessed One with these words: "Blessed One, how should one know whether sons of good family or daughters of good family, from all the world realms in the ten directions, are present here because of this Perfection of Wisdom, for the sake of holding it, grasping it, reciting it, fully understanding it, serving it, making it their guru, respecting it, or making offerings to it, and that the sons of the gods of the retinue of the Four Great Kings are present, and that the sons of the gods up to Akanistha are present here?" Having thus requested, the Blessed One spoke to Indra, the lord of the gods: "Kausika, if a son of good family or a daughter of good family sees great lights, then one should certainly understand that great and powerful gods have come here for the sake of reciting this Perfection of Wisdom, holding it, fully understanding it, grasping it, serving it, making it their guru, respecting it, offering to it, bowing to it, and prostrating to it. Kausika, furthermore, if a son of good family or a daughter of good family tastes a divine fragrance, one that is beyond human creation, one that has never been experienced before, then one should certainly understand that powerful sons of the gods have come here for the sake of reciting this Perfection of Wisdom, listening to it, holding it, grasping it, fully understanding it, serving it, making it their guru, respecting it, and offering to it. Kausika, furthermore, if a son of good family or a daughter of good family is endowed with pure conduct, then through that pure conduct, those gods will draw near, and for the sake of holding this Perfection of Wisdom, grasping it, reciting it, fully understanding it, serving it, making it their guru, respecting it, and offering to it, they will be extremely delighted.

It will happen. In that place, however many small deities there are, they will also want to flee from there because they cannot bear the power, splendor, and majesty of the great deities. However close the great deities come, that son or daughter of good family will also become filled with great faith. Unclean behavior should not be allowed in that place. That place should be adorned with incense, scents, garlands, ointments, powders, clothes, umbrellas, victory banners, and flags. It should be scattered all around with sprinkles of perfume and flowers. Hang silk ribbons and cloth curtains, and decorate that place in many ways. Kauśika, furthermore, the son or daughter of good family will not feel fatigue in their body. The body will feel comfortable. For the sake of lightness of body, benefit to many lives, and happiness to many beings, he/she will enter. Kauśika, the son or daughter of good family will come to know the lightness of body, the fitness of body, the comfort of body, the lightness of mind, the fitness of mind, and the comfort of mind. Therefore, he/she will feel comfortable falling asleep by thinking of this Prajñāpāramitā, and will not see sinful dreams. Even if he/she sees dreams, he/she will see the Tathāgata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened Buddha, whose body is adorned with the thirty-two major marks of a great being, residing in a golden color, surrounded by the Sangha of monks, with the assembly of Bodhisattvas standing before him teaching the Dharma, and he/she will hear the teaching that is in accordance with the six perfections. He/she will hear the teaching that is in accordance with the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha. He/she will also hear the meaning of that Pāramitā. He/she will also hear the meaning of the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha. He/she will also see the Bodhi tree. He/she will also see the Bodhisattva Mahāsattva, the heart of enlightenment.
