Action is an action impoverished by Dharma. Subhuti asked: World Honored One, how many ways will a foolish person who abandons this Prajnaparamita abandon this Prajnaparamita? The World Honored One said: Subhuti, those foolish people will abandon the Prajnaparamita in four ways. What are the four? It is like this: those foolish people will be blessed by Mara, will not have faith in the profound Dharmas, nor will they have great faith, and they will be attached to the five skandhas, etc., and because they have fallen into the hands of evil friends, they will have hateful behavior, praising themselves and slandering others. Subhuti, if they possess these four ways, those foolish people will abandon this profound Prajnaparamita. Subhuti asked: World Honored One, this profound Prajnaparamita is difficult for those who are of little diligence, do not possess virtuous roots, and are in the hands of evil friends to believe in. The World Honored One said: Subhuti, it is so, it is so. This Prajnaparamita is difficult for those who are of little diligence, do not possess virtuous roots, and have fallen into the hands of evil friends to believe in. Subhuti asked: World Honored One, how profound is this Prajnaparamita that is so difficult to believe in? The World Honored One said: Subhuti, form is neither bound nor liberated. Why is that? Subhuti, because form has no self-nature, therefore it is form. Feeling has no self-nature, therefore it is feeling. Perception has no self-nature, therefore it is perception. Volitions have no self-nature, therefore they are volitions. Consciousness is neither bound nor liberated. Why is that? Subhuti, because consciousness has no self-nature, therefore it is consciousness. Subhuti, likewise, the perfection of giving is neither bound nor liberated. Why is that? The perfection of giving

Because the perfection of generosity has no self-nature, it is the perfection of generosity. Subhuti, similarly, the perfection of discipline, the perfection of patience, the perfection of diligence, the perfection of meditation, and the perfection of wisdom are neither bound nor liberated. Why is that? Because the perfection of wisdom has no self-nature, it is the perfection of wisdom. Subhuti, inner emptiness is neither bound nor liberated. Why is that? Subhuti, because inner emptiness has no self-nature, it is inner emptiness. Subhuti, there is no self-nature between the emptiness of the self-nature of non-things, so it is the emptiness of the self-nature of non-things. Subhuti, the four mindfulnesses are neither bound nor liberated. Why is that? Subhuti, because the four mindfulnesses have no self-nature, they are the four mindfulnesses. Subhuti, the paths are neither bound nor liberated. Why is that? Subhuti, because the paths have no self-nature, they are the paths. Subhuti, similarly, the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha, and all-knowingness are neither bound nor liberated. Why is that? Subhuti, because all-knowingness has no self-nature, it is all-knowingness. Subhuti, the prior limit of form is neither bound nor liberated. Why is that? Subhuti, because the self-nature of non-things of the prior limit is form. The prior limit of feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness is neither bound nor liberated. Why is that? Subhuti, because the self-nature of non-things of the prior limit is not consciousness. Subhuti, the prior limit between all-knowingness is neither bound nor liberated. Why is that?

Subhuti, the ultimate limit of form is neither bound nor liberated. Why is that? Subhuti, the nature of the ultimate limit, which is without substance, is form. Subhuti, the ultimate limit of feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness is neither bound nor liberated. Why is that? Subhuti, the nature of the ultimate limit, which is without substance, is consciousness. Subhuti, the ultimate limit up to all-knowingness is neither bound nor liberated. Why is that? Subhuti, the nature of the present arising, which is without substance, is form. Subhuti, the present arising of feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness is neither bound nor liberated. Why is that? Subhuti, the nature of the present arising, which is without substance, is consciousness. Subhuti, the present arising up to all-knowingness is neither bound nor liberated. Why is that? Subhuti, the nature of the present arising, which is without substance, is all-knowingness. Subhuti asked: "Bhagavan, the Perfection of Wisdom is difficult for those with little diligence, those who have not generated roots of virtue, those who fall into the hands of evil friends, those who are possessed by demons, those who are lazy, those who have abandoned diligence, those who are unmindful, and those who are not endowed with mindfulness to believe in." The Bhagavan said: "Subhuti, it is so, it is so. Subhuti, the Perfection of Wisdom is difficult for those with little diligence, those who have not generated roots of virtue, those who fall into the hands of evil friends, those who are possessed by demons, those who are lazy, those who have abandoned diligence, those who are unmindful, and those who are not endowed with mindfulness to believe in. This is said to be the four causes of karmic obscurations. Subhuti, whatever is the purity of form, that is the purity of the result. Feeling, perception, formations,
