So it is. Then, the venerable Shariputra said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, those who commit the five heinous crimes will perform actions that will impoverish them of the Dharma, and they will not even use a mere image of what they have accumulated." The Blessed One said: "Shariputra, when that person speaks of this profound Perfection of Wisdom, he thinks of abandoning it and should not study it, saying, 'This is not Dharma, this is not discipline, this is not the teaching of the Teacher, this is not what the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Enlightened One has spoken.' He himself also thinks that he should abandon it, and he will also cause other sentient beings to have no faith. He will cause his own lineage to decline, and then cause the lineage of others to decline; he will make his own lineage poisonous, and then make the lineage of others poisonous. He himself will also be destroyed, and he will cause others to be destroyed; he himself, because he does not understand or know this profound Perfection of Wisdom, wants to abandon it, and he will also cause others to hold it in the same way, and even a mere image of that person will change. Shariputra, I do not allow such a person to be heard, nor should one speak or meet with him, let alone associate with him. Why is that? Shariputra, it should be known that such people are criticizing the Dharma. Shariputra, it should be known that such people have the nature of rotten leaves, and belong to the black side. Shariputra, if someone thinks of listening to the words of such people, or thinks of trusting them, those people will also be destroyed. Shariputra, whoever criticizes the Perfection of Wisdom, it should be known that he is a person who criticizes the Dharma." Shariputra said: "Blessed One, the Blessed One has not yet spoken of the measure of the body in which a person who criticizes the Dharma is born." The Blessed One said: "Shariputra, put aside the measure of the body in which a person who criticizes the Dharma is born. Why is that? If one hears the measure of the body of a person who criticizes the Dharma, blood will flow immediately."

Or it becomes vomiting, or death, or the suffering of facing death, or the arising of the sting of sorrow, or withering like a trampled garden, or becoming defiled, or becoming blue, or becoming bluish-green. Because, if one hears that someone is slandering the Dharma, their body's condition is like that, and the fault is so great. Therefore, the Blessed One did not distinguish to the venerable Shariputra, saying, "His body's condition is like this." Shariputra reported: Blessed One, please explain. Having done and accumulated the evil deeds that lead to the decline of the Dharma, will those who slander the Dharma fully accept such a body? By doing so, one will manifest things that have not yet appeared. The Blessed One said: Shariputra, this person has done and accumulated the deeds that lead to the decline of the Dharma, therefore they will experience the suffering of the great hell. Such immeasurable and boundless suffering will be experienced for a long time. These two will also manifest to beings who have not yet appeared, and people with white qualities will also think, "We will also experience such suffering," and in order to prevent this purpose, they will not abandon the true Dharma, and will turn away from those paths that lead to the decline of the Dharma. Then, the venerable Subhuti reported to the Blessed One: Blessed One, such forms of suffering will be experienced. One will not see the Tathagata, will not hear the Dharma, and will not see the Sangha. In a Buddha-field where no Buddha appears, beings will appear. One will become poor. One will become impolite in speech. In order to do these things, I will strictly restrain the actions of body, speech, and mind. Blessed One, having done and accumulated the verbal deeds of abandoning the Dharma, this will become having done and accumulated the deeds that lead to the decline of the Dharma. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, having done and accumulated the verbal deeds of abandoning the true Dharma, this will become having done and accumulated the deeds that lead to the decline of the Dharma. Subhuti, that foolish person is...

I shall renounce from that very sacred Vinaya. Rabjor, one will think to find fault with the Perfection of Wisdom, one will think to abandon it, one will think to refute it, that is to find fault with the Perfection of Wisdom, one will refute it. One will find fault with and refute the Bodhi of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat. By finding fault with and abandoning the Bodhi of the Buddhas, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who have passed, who have not come, and who are present now, will find fault with and abandon all-knowingness. By finding fault with and abandoning all-knowingness, one will abandon the Dharma. By abandoning the Dharma, one will abandon the Sangha. By abandoning the Sangha, one will abandon the worldly right view and the transcendental right view. Similarly, one has abandoned the six perfections, the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, the noble truths, the immeasurables, the meditations, and the formless absorptions. One has abandoned emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, the eight liberations, the nine successive abidings of meditative absorption, and the superknowledges. One has abandoned inner emptiness, outer emptiness, inner-outer emptiness, up to the emptiness of the nature of non-things, and all samadhis and all dharani gates. One has abandoned the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha. Up to all-knowingness, one has abandoned it. By abandoning up to all-knowingness, one will fully grasp immeasurable, countless, and incalculable non-meritorious aggregates. By grasping immeasurable, countless, and incalculable non-meritorious aggregates, one will experience immeasurable, countless, and incalculable suffering and unpleasantness.
