If one holds in the manner of being without characteristics, then great faith and delight will arise in inner emptiness. Great faith and delight will arise between outer emptiness, inner and outer emptiness, and emptiness of the nature of non-things. Great faith and delight will arise in the immeasurables, the meditations, the formless absorptions, and the noble truths. Great faith and delight will arise in the eight liberations and the nine successive abidings in absorption. Great faith and delight will arise in emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness. Great faith and delight will arise in the superknowledges, all samadhis, and all dharani gates. Great faith and delight will arise in the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha. One will be completely taken by virtuous friends. Those virtuous friends of this one will also teach the perfection of wisdom, the perfection of meditation, the perfection of diligence, the perfection of patience, the perfection of ethics, and the perfection of giving in a way that is meaningful and literal. And that bodhisattva will never be separated from the perfection of wisdom until there is no fault, and likewise, he will not be separated from the perfections, all emptinesses, the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, the noble truths, the immeasurables, the meditations, the formless absorptions, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, the eight liberations, the nine successive abidings in absorption, the superknowledges, all samadhis, all dharani gates, the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha. Thus he teaches. He will also teach the works of the demons, and having heard those works of the demons, he will not decrease or increase.

Ro! What is the reason for that? It is because those actions of demons are without inherent existence. That bodhisattva, until he is without fault, will not be separated from the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and will also generate roots of virtue for them. Those roots of virtue will also completely hold the lineage of the bodhisattva. That lineage of the bodhisattva will also never be separated until the attainment of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Furthermore, a bodhisattva mahasattva who has newly entered the Great Vehicle, in the countless and immeasurable realms of the ten directions, the Tathagatas, Arhats, Samyaksambuddhas who dwell, abide, and teach the Dharma, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who have cut off the path, cut off the entrance, cut off the elaboration and the leading into existence, whose tears are exhausted, whose thorns are destroyed, whose burden is completely cast off, who have attained their own benefit, who have completely severed the connection with existence, whose minds are completely liberated by correct and complete knowledge, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who have reached the supreme other shore of the mind, together with the Sangha of Shravakas, accumulate merit and generate roots of virtue, as well as the great Sala of the royal lineage, or the great Sala of the Brahmin lineage, or the great Sala of the householder lineage, or the gods of the Four Great Kings, or the Thirty-three, or the No-Strife, or the Tushita, or the Delightful Emanating, or the Controlling Others' Emanations, or the Brahma lineage, or the Brahma Foregoers, or the Great Brahma, or the Small Light, or the Immeasurable Light, or the Clear Light, or the Small Virtue, or the Immeasurable Virtue, or the Universal Virtue, or the Cloudless, or the Merit Increasing, or the Great Fruit, or the Pure Abode, or the No Affliction, or the No Heat, or the Good Seeing, or the Excellent Seeing, or any of the gods of the Akanishtha, having manifestly gathered all those roots of virtue that have been generated, gathered them together, tamed them, measured them, and rejoiced in them. Excellent, sacred, principal, supremely excellent, most excellent, unsurpassed rejoicing and rejoicing, from rejoicing also possessing the roots of virtue of rejoicing, unsurpassed and perfect.

To dedicate to perfect enlightenment is called dedication without an object. Maitreya said: Worthy Subhuti, if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who has newly entered the Mahayana, thinks and contemplates on all the roots of virtue of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat and the Sangha of the Hearers, rejoices with the utmost joy, rejoices with the unsurpassed joy, and then dedicates to the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, how can the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva not be inverted in perception? How can he not be inverted in mind? How can he not be inverted in view? Subhuti said: Maitreya, if the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva does not arise the perception of the Buddha, the perception of the Hearer, the perception of the root of virtue, from those Buddhas, the Bhagavat and the Sangha of the Hearers, and does not arise the perception of the mind on the mind with which he dedicates, then the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who dedicates in this way has no inverted perception, no inverted mind, and no inverted view. If the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva thinks of those Buddhas, the Bhagavat and their roots of virtue, and grasps them with the grasping of characteristics, and then dedicates to the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, then the perception of dedicating in this way is inverted, the mind is inverted, and the view is inverted. Furthermore, if the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva thinks of those Buddhas, the Bhagavat and their roots of virtue with any mind in accordance with reality, and knows that this is extinction, then that person cannot dedicate. The nature of the mind with which one dedicates is also like that, and the dedication there is also the nature, if one dedicates in this way, it is correct.
