Having put it into a volume. Writing it down when young, and giving it to others for reading, merit will greatly increase. What is the reason for that? Because this Prajñāpāramitā extensively teaches the undefiled dharmas. Kauśika, furthermore, any son of good family or daughter of good family who will hold, retain, recite, fully understand, and properly attend to this Prajñāpāramitā, the merit of that son of good family or daughter of good family will greatly increase. It is not by placing all the beings of Jambudvipa, the four continents, and the beings of the two thousand middle world realms in the ten paths of virtuous actions, dhyana, immeasurables, formless realms, and supernormal knowledges. Proper attention is this: with a non-dual mind, one will hold, retain, recite, fully understand, and properly attend to this Prajñāpāramitā. With a non-dual mind, one will hold, retain, recite, fully understand, and properly attend to the dhyana pāramitā, virya pāramitā, kshanti pāramitā, shila pāramitā, and with a non-dual mind, one will hold, retain, recite, fully understand, and properly attend to the dāna pāramitā. With a non-dual mind, one will properly attend to inner emptiness, outer emptiness, inner-outer emptiness, up to the emptiness of the nature of non-things. Chapter Thirty-Four. With a non-dual mind, one will properly attend to the mindfulness, the right abandonments, the feet of miracles, the faculties, the powers, the limbs of enlightenment, and the paths. With a non-dual mind, one will properly attend to the eighteen unshared dharmas of the Buddha and the all-knowingness, this is called

This is the fourth kind of reverence. Kauśika! Furthermore, if a son or daughter of good family extensively shows, explains, distinguishes, and clarifies the meaning of the Perfection of Wisdom to others in many ways, then, this is the meaning of the Perfection of Wisdom: the Perfection of Wisdom is seen as non-dual, not as dual. It is not a sign, it is not without a sign. It is not coming, it is not going. It is not decreasing, it is not increasing. It is not completely defiled, it is not completely purified. It is not arising, it is not ceasing. It is not taking, it is not abandoning. It is not abiding, it is not non-abiding. It is not true, it is not untrue. It is not with, it is not without. It is not a little, it is not not a little. It is not separate parts, it is not not separate parts. It is not the nature of phenomena, it is not not the nature of phenomena. It is not suchness, it is not not suchness. It is not the true limit, it is not not the true limit. Whatever son or daughter of good family extensively shows, explains, distinguishes, and clarifies the meaning of this Perfection of Wisdom to others, this itself will increase much merit, and he will only hold, retain, read, fully understand, and properly attend to it, not because of other reasons. This is the fifth kind of reverence. Kauśika! Furthermore, if a son or daughter of good family himself also holds, retains, reads, fully understands, and properly attends to this Perfection of Wisdom, and also extensively shows, explains, distinguishes, and clarifies it to others, then, this itself will increase even more merit. Indra requested: Blessed One, it is so! Sugata, it is so! The Blessed One said: Kauśika! A son or daughter of good family should show the Perfection of Wisdom in such a way that it is both meaningful and literal. Kauśika! The son or daughter of good family who shows it in this way,

This woman is a collection of merit, possessing immeasurable and countless, unmeasurable qualities, which is called the sixth kind of reverence. Kauśika, if a son or daughter of good family, in each of the ten directions in immeasurable world realms, to immeasurable and countless, unmeasurable Tathāgatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Ones, until the end of their lives, with flowers, incense, perfumes, garlands, ointments, powders, clothing, umbrellas, banners, flags, and all kinds of comfortable necessities, serves, reveres, respects, and makes offerings, it is not as much as if a son or daughter of good family, Kauśika, extensively explains this Prajñāpāramitā to others, making them understand its meaning, and with letters and various methods makes them understand, correctly and clearly elucidates it, makes them practice it, makes them liberate, and correctly teaches it, then the merit of this son or daughter of good family will greatly increase. Why is that? Because by practicing this Prajñāpāramitā, the Tathāgatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Ones of the past, future, and present have attained, are attaining, and will attain unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment. This is called the seventh kind of reverence. Kauśika, furthermore, if a son or daughter of good family, for immeasurable and countless kalpas, practices the Pāramitā of Generosity, the Pāramitā of Discipline, the Pāramitā of Patience, the Pāramitā of Diligence, the Pāramitā of Meditation, and the Pāramitā of Wisdom with a focused mind, it is not as much as if they extensively, correctly, and clearly explain, speak, and represent it to others in a non-focused way, then the merit of that person will greatly increase. Kauśika, what is focusing? It is when a Bodhisattva gives with a focused mind, thinking: I am giving, this is giving, I will give to this.
