Because this is the glory of the Prajñāpāramitā. If a son or daughter of good family recites this Prajñāpāramitā and goes to the retinue of the royal palace, then the king, prince, minister, or great minister will also inquire first, and will be mindful to converse, and will not be suppressed. What is the reason for this? This is because the son or daughter of good family has closely established the mind of loving-kindness, the mind of compassion, the mind of joy, and the mind of equanimity for the benefit of all sentient beings. Kauśika, any son or daughter of good family who will hold, keep, read, fully understand, and properly attend to this Prajñāpāramitā will be endowed with these qualities in this life. Kauśika, furthermore, what qualities of future lives will those sons or daughters of good family who will hold, keep, read, fully understand, and properly attend to this Prajñāpāramitā be endowed with? Like this, they will never be separated from the path of the ten virtuous actions, the four dhyānas, the four formless absorptions, the pāramitās, the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, the noble truths, the eight liberations, the successive abidings in absorption, the three doors of liberation, the six superknowledges, all emptiness, all samādhis, all dhāraṇī gates, the ten powers, the fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, and the unmixed qualities of the Buddha. They will never be separated from the marks and signs. Except for the power of the aspiration to fully ripen sentient beings, they will never be born in the hells, the animal realm, or the world of Yama.

Nor will he become mute. He will never become one whose faculties are incomplete. He will never become one whose limbs are incomplete. He will never be born into a poor family. He will not be born into the family of a bamboo worker. He will not be born into the family of one with moles. He will not be born into the family of a blacksmith. He will not be born into the family of an outcaste or a swineherd. He will not be born into a lowly family. He will be born into a great kshatriya family, a great brahmin family, and a great householder family, and will become more and more noble. He will always possess a body endowed with the thirty-two marks of a great man and the eighty excellent signs that are well adorned. In whatever world systems the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, will appear, he will be born miraculously from a lotus in the presence of those Buddhas, the Bhagavat. He will never be separated from direct knowledge. If he desires that, in order to attend upon the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and to listen to the Dharma, he will go from buddha-field to buddha-field. He goes from buddha-field to buddha-field and completely ripens beings. He completely purifies buddha-fields. Kauśika, therefore, a son or daughter of good family should take up this prajñāpāramitā. He should hold it. He should read it. He should master it. He should properly apply his mind to it. And he should not be separated from the mind of all-knowledge. Those ones will possess the qualities of this life and the qualities of other lifetimes until they awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Then, about a hundred other non-Buddhist wanderers, with the intention of seeking fault, came to where the Bhagavat was. Then the lord of the gods, Indra, thought to himself: These hundred other non-Buddhist wanderers have come to where the Bhagavat is with the intention of seeking fault, and I must by all means prevent these hundred other non-Buddhist wanderers from coming to the presence of the Bhagavat and creating obstacles, and I will offer prajñā to the Bhagavat.

Having recited those that were taken from this perfection of wisdom, thinking thus, then there will be no obstacle to explaining this perfection of wisdom. Then, the lord of the gods, Indra, recited those perfections of wisdom that he had taken from the Blessed One. Then, those other non-Buddhist wanderers, from a place even more distant than a distant place, circumambulated the Blessed One to the right, and then turned back and left from that very path and that very door. Then, the venerable Śāriputra thought to himself: Why did those other non-Buddhist wanderers circumambulate the Blessed One to the right from a place even more distant than a distant place, and then turn back and leave from that very path? Then, the Blessed One, knowing with his mind the thought in the mind of the venerable Śāriputra, spoke to the venerable Śāriputra: Śāriputra, the lord of the gods, Indra, has given proper attention to the perfection of wisdom, and therefore those other non-Buddhist wanderers have circumambulated me to the right from a place even more distant than a distant place, and then turned back and left from that very path and that very door. Śāriputra, among these non-Buddhist wanderers, I have not seen even one who possesses a white mind; all those other non-Buddhist wanderers are filled with the intention to harm, and their minds are solely focused on finding fault. Śāriputra, I think that in this assembly, among all the beings in the world, including the gods, the māras, the brahmās, and the ascetics and brahmins, when this very perfection of wisdom is taught, no one will come near with a mind of hatred or with the intention of finding fault, for that is impossible. Why is that? Śāriputra, it is because in this great trichiliocosm, the retinue of the four great kings, the thirty-three, the Yama, the Tuṣita, the Nirmāṇarati, the Paranirmitavaśavartin, the Brahma retinue, the Brahmapurohita, the Mahabrahma, the Parīttābha,
