The Dharma is empty. The Great Vehicle is empty of the Great Vehicle. The Hearer is empty of the Hearer. The Solitary Buddha is empty of the Solitary Buddha. The Bodhisattva is empty of the Bodhisattva. The Buddha is empty of the Buddha. Thus, from the emptiness of the Hearer's Vehicle to the emptiness of the Great Vehicle, and from the emptiness of the Hearer to the emptiness of the Buddha, there is neither duality nor divisibility. Kauśika, a Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva should thus abide in the Perfection of Wisdom, which belongs to the stage of warmth. Then, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, said to the Venerable Subhūti: Venerable Subhūti, how should a Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva not abide in the Perfection of Wisdom? Subhūti replied: Kauśika, here, a Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva should not abide in form with the aspect of grasping. He should not abide in feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness. He should not abide in the eye with the aspect of grasping. He should not abide in form. He should not abide in eye-consciousness. He should not abide in eye-contact. He should not abide in eye-contact. He should not abide in the feeling born from eye-contact. Likewise, he should not abide in the ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind. He should not abide in phenomena. He should not abide in mind-consciousness. He should not abide in mind-contact. He should not abide in the feeling born from mind-contact. He should not abide in the earth element with the aspect of grasping. He should not abide in the water element. He should not abide in the fire element. He should not abide in the wind element. He should not abide in the space element. He should not abide in the consciousness element. He should not abide in the mindfulnesses with the aspect of grasping. Likewise, he should not abide in the right abandonments, the feet of miraculous power, the faculties, the powers, the limbs of enlightenment, the path, the superknowledges, the noble truths, the meditations, the immeasurables.
