Therefore, the perfections of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas are limitless. Why is that? Kausika, it is because the edge and middle of form are not perceived in this way. Feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness are limitless, therefore the perfections of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas are limitless. Why is that? Kausika, it is because the edge and middle of consciousness are not perceived in this way. Similarly, the individual and aggregate skandhas, realms, sources, dependent origination, the perfections, and the mindfulnesses, the right abandonments, the miraculous feet, the faculties, the powers, the limbs of enlightenment, the immeasurables, the meditations, the formless absorptions, the truths, all emptiness, the superknowledges, all samadhis, the doors of dharani, the ten powers, the fearlessnesses, the separate correct knowledges, the unmixed Buddha dharmas, and even the all-aspect knowledge are limitless, therefore the perfections of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas are limitless. Why is that? Kausika, it is because the edge and middle of all-aspect knowledge are not perceived in this way. Kausika, therefore, the perfections of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas are limitless because form is limitless and even the all-aspect knowledge is limitless, this is the negation of cause. Kausika, furthermore, because the object of focus is limitless, the perfections of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas are limitless, that is, the Prajnaparamita. The lord of the gods said: Venerable Subhuti, how is it that because the object of focus is limitless, the perfections of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas are limitless, that is, the Prajnaparamita? Subhuti said: Kausika, because the object of focus of all-aspect knowledge is limitless, the Bodhisattva

The perfections of the great Bodhisattvas are limitless. Thus, it is called Prajñāpāramitā, which is the negation of all arising. Kauśika, furthermore, because the object of Dharma is limitless, the perfections of the Bodhisattva-Mahāsattvas are limitless. Thus, it is Prajñāpāramitā. The Lord of the Gods, Indra, said: Venerable Subhūti, why is it that because the object of Dharma is limitless, the perfections of the Bodhisattva-Mahāsattvas are limitless, and thus it is called Prajñāpāramitā? Subhūti said: Because the realm of Dharma is limitless. The perfections of the Bodhisattva-Mahāsattvas are limitless. Thus, it is called Prajñāpāramitā, which is the negation of complete birth. Kauśika, furthermore, because the object of Suchness is limitless, the perfections of the Bodhisattva-Mahāsattvas are limitless. Thus, it is Prajñāpāramitā. The Lord of the Gods said: Venerable Subhūti, why is it that because the object of Suchness is limitless, the perfections of the Bodhisattva-Mahāsattvas are limitless, and thus it is called Prajñāpāramitā?

Then, what dharma's conventional term is that? The Lord of the Gods said: Venerable Subhuti, like this, the term 'sentient being, sentient being' is not a conventional term of dharma, but it is a name temporarily designated. It is a name for something without substance. It is a name for something without an object of focus. Subhuti said: Kausika, what do you think? Is there any explanation of sentient beings in this Perfection of Wisdom? The Lord of the Gods said: Venerable Subhuti, there is not. Subhuti said: Kausika, if there is no explanation of sentient beings, then there are no limitless sentient beings for it. Kausika, if the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened One, were to dwell for as many kalpas as there are grains of sand in the Ganges River, uttering the words 'sentient being, sentient being,' Kausika, what do you think? Would any sentient being arise or cease therein? The Lord of the Gods said: Venerable Subhuti, there would not. Why is that? Because sentient beings are completely pure from the very beginning. Subhuti said: Kausika, therefore, since sentient beings are limitless, it should be known that the Perfection of Wisdom is limitless, which clearly shows that it is entered for the sake of the realm of sentient beings, and these show the forbearance of knowing dharma in arising. Then, the gods including Indra, the gods including Brahma, the gods including the Lord of Beings, and the beings including men and women, praised three times especially, the special praise is like this: Ema! Dharma! Ema! Dharma! This nature of dharmas, by the power of the Tathagata and by the blessing of the Tathagata, was shown, spoken, declared, and fully clarified by the Venerable Subhuti. Bhagavan, we should also regard the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who is inseparable from this Perfection of Wisdom as the Tathagata himself. Form, or feeling, or perception, or formations, or consciousness, or the dharma up to the all-knowingness itself.
