That is, if they even obstruct the happy realms, what need is there to mention the noble path? What need is there to mention unsurpassed perfect enlightenment? Therefore, they must be abandoned. Furthermore, what is the excessive pride that a Bodhisattva Mahasattva should completely abandon? That is, if he has not truly seen any dharma, what need is there to mention the excess that would become the cause of pride? Therefore, pride should not arise. This is the excessive pride that a Bodhisattva Mahasattva should completely abandon. Furthermore, what is the arrogance that a Bodhisattva Mahasattva should completely abandon? That is, he has not truly seen any object that would cause arrogance to arise. This is the arrogance that a Bodhisattva Mahasattva should completely abandon.
