Now, it will definitely manifest into perfect enlightenment. Similarly, one does not focus on the perfection of meditation, the perfection of diligence, the perfection of patience, the perfection of ethics, the perfection of generosity, and even the state of omniscience. If a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva studies the perfection of wisdom in such a way that he does not observe them correctly, he will definitely manifest into the state of omniscience through the method of non-focusing. Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the perfection of wisdom in this way and studies the perfection of wisdom in this way, he will manifest into the state of omniscience through the method of non-focusing. This is called the seventh contemplation of that, which is contemplation on the object of focus. Shariputra asked: Blessed One, by what method of non-focusing does one manifest into the state of omniscience? The Blessed One replied: Shariputra, because of the extreme purity, I do not focus on or see myself. Similarly, because of the extreme purity, one does not focus on or see even the state of omniscience. This is called the eighth contemplation of that, which is contemplation on self and so on. Shariputra, purity is unborn, unarisen, and uncreated. This is called the ninth contemplation of that, which is the contemplation of purity, birth, and so on. These are the first contemplations of what is to be grasped. The second contemplation of what is to be grasped, the nine kinds of discriminations belonging to the peak. Because of unskilled means, one contemplates and clings to form, and even contemplates and clings to consciousness. This is called the first of the discriminations belonging to the peak, which is the discrimination of the meaning of aggregates. One contemplates and clings to the eye, and similarly, even to the mind, one contemplates and clings to form, and similarly, even to phenomena. This is called the second contemplation of that, which is the discrimination of the meaning of the gate of birth. Eye and form, and the consciousness of the eye.

One discriminates and manifestly clings to the realm of consciousness of the mind. Likewise, one discriminates and manifestly clings between the mind and phenomena and the realm of consciousness of the mind, this is said to be the third discrimination of that, discriminating the meaning of lineage. One discriminates and manifestly clings to ignorance. Likewise, one discriminates and manifestly clings to old age and death, this is said to be the fourth discrimination of that, discriminating the meaning of birth. One discriminates and manifestly clings between inner emptiness, and outer emptiness, and inner-outer emptiness, and emptiness of the nature of non-things, this is said to be the fifth discrimination of that, discriminating the meaning of emptiness. One discriminates and manifestly clings to the six perfections, this is said to be the sixth discrimination of that, discriminating the meaning of the pāramitās. One discriminates and manifestly clings to the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, this is said to be the seventh discrimination of that, discriminating the path of seeing. One discriminates and clings to those dhyānas, and those superknowledges, and those immeasurables, and those formless absorptions, and clings to the future, this is said to be the eighth discrimination of that, discriminating the path of meditation. One discriminates and manifestly clings to the ten powers of the Tathāgata. Up to discriminating and manifestly clinging to all-knowingness, this is said to be the ninth discrimination of that, discriminating the path of no more learning. These are the second discriminations of what is to be grasped. The first discrimination of what grasps. Nine discriminations included in forbearance. Shariputra! I do not perceive a self. Likewise, beings, life, nourishment, individuals, persons, sentient beings, mind-born, intentional, agents, knowers, cognizers, seers, are not perceived. Why is that? Because it is utterly pure, selfless and not perceived. This is said to be in accordance with the discriminations included in forbearance, the first discrimination discriminates the independent self. Shariputra! I do not perceive form, up to consciousness.
