four, and individual correct knowledge, and will (they) learn the unmixed Dharma of the Buddhas? Will (they) become omniscient? Will (they) obtain the knowledge of the aspects of the path and the knowledge of all aspects? Asked: Blessed One, that will not happen. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, what do you think? Regarding these five aggregates of grasping, is it the case that one perceives, fully knows, establishes, and designates (them) as being called Bodhisattva? Asked: Blessed One, that is not the case. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, what do you think? Just by perceiving, fully knowing, establishing, and designating, do these five aggregates of grasping arise, cease, become defiled, or become purified? Asked: Blessed One, that will not happen. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, what do you think? For that which has no perception, no full knowledge, no establishment, no designation, no name, no establishment of name, no body, no action of body, no speech, no action of speech, no mind, no action of mind, no birth, no cessation, no defilement, and no purification, will that learn the Perfection of Wisdom and become omniscient? Will (they) obtain omniscience? Asked: Blessed One, that will not happen. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, therefore, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, having trained in the Perfection of Wisdom, will definitely become omniscient in a non-apprehending manner. Asked: Blessed One, if that is so, then a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who studies the Perfection of Wisdom should study the Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment as if studying by an illusory person. Why is that? Blessed One, one should recognize this itself as an illusory person, namely, these five aggregates of grasping. The Blessed One said:

Tsalpa, Rabjor, what do you think? Will these five aggregates, through studying the Perfection of Wisdom, come to achieve all-knowingness? He replied: Blessed One, that will not happen. Why is that? Blessed One, because these five aggregates of close grasping are by nature without substance. Similarly, the five aggregates are like a dream. A dream is also by nature without substance, and unattainable. Similarly, the five aggregates are unattainable by their nature of being without substance. The Blessed One said: Rabjor, what do you think? Will the five aggregates, which are like echoes, mirages, illusions, and reflections, through studying the Perfection of Wisdom, come to achieve all-knowingness? He replied: Blessed One, that will not happen. Why is that? Blessed One, because a dream is by nature without substance, and an echo is by nature without substance. Similarly, mirages, illusions, and reflections are by nature without substance, and unattainable. Similarly, the five aggregates are unattainable because of their nature of being without substance. Blessed One, for example, form is like an illusion. Feeling is like an illusion. Perception is like an illusion. Volition is like an illusion. Consciousness is like an illusion. Whatever is consciousness is also the six faculties and the five aggregates. They are also unattainable by inner emptiness. Unattainable by outer emptiness, and so on, unattainable up to the emptiness of the essence of non-substantiality. Blessed One, if it is said in this way, whichever Bodhisattva Mahasattva does not shrink back, does not shrink back completely, does not regret, does not fear, does not dread completely, and is not completely seized by dread, then, Blessed One, he will definitely achieve all-knowingness, he will definitely achieve the knowledge of the path, and it should be known that he will attain all-knowingness.
