that is the conceptualization of self, such as the seer. Shariputra! Dependent origination is not found, and even the realm of formlessness is not found. This is the fifth conceptualization of it, the conceptualization of self as the basis of all afflictions. The first dhyana is not found, and even the absorption of the formless realms is not found. This is the sixth conceptualization of it, the conceptualization of self as the basis of detachment from desire. The noble truths are not found. This is the seventh conceptualization of it, the conceptualization of self as the basis of seeing. The eight liberations and the nine successive abidings in meditative equipoise are not found. This is the eighth conceptualization of it, the conceptualization of self as the basis of meditation. The ten powers are not found, and even all-knowingness is not found. How are they not found? Because of the nature of self. Why? Because the self is utterly pure. This is the ninth conceptualization of it, the conceptualization of the basis of what has been done for the benefit of others. These are the first conceptualizations of grasping. The second conceptualization of grasping, the nine conceptualizations of the supreme Dharma. Then, the venerable Subhuti said to the Blessed One, "Blessed One! If someone were to ask, 'Does this illusory person train in the perfection of wisdom and attain all-knowingness? Will he attain all-knowingness?' Blessed One, how should I answer such a question? Does this illusory person train in the perfection of meditative concentration, the perfection of diligence, the perfection of patience, the perfection of morality, the perfection of generosity, and attain all-knowingness? Does this illusory person train in the factors of enlightenment and attain all-knowingness? Does this illusory person train in the unique qualities of the Buddha and attain all-knowingness?"

having trained in it, will he become omniscient? Will he attain omniscience? If he asks thus, how should I answer such a question, O Blessed One? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, therefore, ask yourself. Declare as you endure. This is said to be for showing the second discrimination of grasping. Subhuti, what do you think? Is form different from illusion, and is illusion different from form? Are feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness also different from illusion, and is illusion different from consciousness? He replied: Blessed One, it is not so.
