If one strives, it is called striving. If one strives in emptiness of inner and outer, it is called striving, and so on, up to striving in the emptiness of other things, it is called striving. Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom in this way, if he strives in all these emptinesses, it is called striving. When he strives in the Perfection of Wisdom with these emptinesses, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva should not be said to be striving or not striving. Why is that? Because he does not truly see form as striving or not striving. Feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness are not truly seen as striving or not striving, which is the teaching of the truth of suffering. Form is not truly seen as having the nature of arising or ceasing. Feeling is not truly seen as having the nature of arising or ceasing. Perception is not truly seen as having the nature of arising or ceasing. Formations are not truly seen as having the nature of arising or ceasing. Consciousness is not truly seen as having the nature of arising or ceasing. Form is not truly seen as having the nature of defilement or purification. Feeling is not truly seen as having the nature of defilement or purification. Perception is not truly seen as having the nature of defilement or purification. Formations are not truly seen as having the nature of defilement or purification. Consciousness is not truly seen as having the nature of defilement or purification. Shariputra, furthermore, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva does not truly see that form is the accumulation of feeling. He does not truly see that feeling is the accumulation of perception.

Where is it not seen accordingly? It is not seen accordingly to think, "The aggregate of perception is truly gathered in all formations." It is not seen accordingly to think, "All formations are gathered in consciousness." It is not seen accordingly to think, "Consciousness is truly gathered in dharma." It is not seen accordingly to think, "Dharma is gathered in some dharmas." Why is that? Because the nature is emptiness, dharma is not truly gathered in some dharmas. Why is that? Shariputra, like this, whatever is the emptiness of form is not form. Whatever is the emptiness of feeling is not feeling. Whatever is the emptiness of perception is not perception. Whatever is the emptiness of formations is not formations. Whatever is the emptiness of consciousness is not consciousness. Why is that? Like this, whatever is form emptiness should not be grasped. Whatever is feeling emptiness should not be made into feeling. Whatever is perception emptiness should not be made into perception. Whatever is the emptiness of formations is not manifest gathering. Whatever is the emptiness of consciousness should not be made into consciousness. Why is that? Shariputra, like this, form is not other than emptiness, and emptiness is not other than form. Emptiness is not other than form, and form is not other than emptiness; form itself is emptiness, and emptiness is form. Feeling is not other than emptiness, and emptiness is not other than feeling. Emptiness is not other than feeling, and feeling is not other than emptiness; feeling itself is emptiness, and emptiness is feeling. Perception is not other than emptiness, and emptiness is not other than perception. Emptiness is not other than perception, and perception is not other than emptiness; perception itself is emptiness, and emptiness is perception. Formations are not other than emptiness, and emptiness is not other than formations. Emptiness is not other than formations, and formations are not other than emptiness; formations themselves are emptiness, and emptiness is formations. Consciousness is not other than emptiness, and emptiness is not other than consciousness.
