Vertebrae, scapula, ribs, hip bones, thighs, tibias, feet, and bones, these are designations, and they are also designated dharmas. They are merely conventional terms of names, and apart from being expressed by names, there is neither arising nor ceasing. That name is neither internal nor external, nor can it be found apart from the two. Subhuti, similarly, what is called Prajnaparamita, what is called Bodhisattva, and what is called the name of Bodhisattva, all of these are merely designated dharmas. That designated dharma is also merely a conventional term of names, and apart from being expressed by names, there is neither arising nor ceasing. These names are neither internal nor external, nor are they apart from the two. Subhuti, for example, all these external grasses, trees, branches, leaves, and petals are all called by various names, and these names are also merely conventional terms of names, and apart from being expressed by names, there is neither arising nor ceasing. These names are neither internal nor external, nor can they be found apart from the two. Subhuti, similarly, what is called Prajnaparamita, what is called Bodhisattva, and what is called the name of Bodhisattva, all these are called by various names. These names are also merely conventional terms of names, and apart from being expressed by names, there is neither arising nor ceasing. These names are neither internal nor external, nor can they be found apart from the two. Subhuti, similarly, Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas should train in Prajnaparamita. Subhuti, again, for example, dreams, echoes, mirages, images, illusions, the moon in water, and the emanations of the Tathagata, all these are merely designated dharmas. That designated dharma is also merely a conventional term of names, and apart from being expressed by names, there is neither arising nor ceasing. That name is neither internal nor external, nor can it be found apart from the two. Subhuti, similarly, what is called Prajnaparamita, what is called Bodhisattva

Moreover, all these that are called the names of Bodhisattvas are merely designated as Dharma. That which is designated as Dharma is merely a designation by way of names, and apart from that, there is no arising and no ceasing. These names are neither diseases, nor external forces, and cannot be discerned apart from the two. Subhuti, thus, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, should train in what is designated as names, designated as instructions, and designated as Dharma, which is called knowing the Dharma in suffering. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, thus practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, does not truly see that form is permanent; nor does he truly see that form is impermanent; nor does he truly see that form is happiness; nor does he truly see that form is suffering; nor does he truly see that form is self; nor does he truly see that form is selfless; nor does he truly see that form is peaceful; nor does he truly see that form is not peaceful; nor does he truly see that form is empty; nor does he truly see that form is not empty; nor does he truly see that form has signs; nor does he truly see that form is signless; nor does he truly see that form has aspirations; nor does he truly see that form is without aspirations; nor does he truly see that form is conditioned; nor does he truly see that form is unconditioned; nor does he truly see that form arises; nor does he truly see that form does not arise; nor does he truly see that form ceases; nor does he truly see that form does not cease; nor does he truly see that form is secluded; nor does he truly see that form is not secluded; nor does he truly see that form is virtuous; nor does he truly see that form is non-virtuous.
