Those who possess skillful means in practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, repeatedly contemplate and abide in these dhyanas, immeasurables, samadhis, and attainments, and also abide in transcendence. In various Buddha-fields, they manifestly awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. This is called the manifestation of the body. Shariputra, those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who abide in the six perfections, create the light of the Buddha's Dharma for sentient beings, and do not separate themselves from that light of the Buddha's Dharma until they manifestly awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, are also those who have entered the fruit of Arhatship. Shariputra, there are Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who manifestly awaken to self-enlightenment in world-realms where Buddhas do not reside and where there are no Shravakas. Through skillful means, they fully ripen hundreds of thousands of millions of nayutas of living beings through the three vehicles, and then manifestly awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. This is called a Pratyekabuddha. Shariputra, those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who have attained the four mindfulnesses, the four right abandonments, the four legs of miraculous power, the five faculties, the five powers, the seven branches of enlightenment, the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, do not attain the fruit of stream-enterer, the fruit of once-returner, the fruit of non-returner, Arhatship itself, or self-enlightenment. However, those who practice the Perfection of Wisdom and, through skillful means, place all sentient beings on the path and purify them, causing those sentient beings to attain the fruit of stream-enterer, the fruit of once-returner, the fruit of non-returner, Arhatship itself, or self-enlightenment, exist. They do not manifestly realize it themselves, but they greatly

That which is called 'causing joy' refers to the fruits to be attained by the path of the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas. Shariputra, what is the wisdom and abandonment by which Hearers and Solitary Buddhas attain their fruits? That is the patience of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who has obtained the patience of non-arising dharmas, which is to bestow upon others the dharma that one has not attained oneself. Shariputra, those Bodhisattva Mahasattvas who thus practice the Perfection of Wisdom should be known as irreversible. Shariputra, there are also Bodhisattva Mahasattvas who abide in the six perfections and completely purify the abode of Tushita. Shariputra, those Bodhisattva Mahasattvas should be known as fortunate. Shariputra, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who possesses this realization of the Buddha's teachings should be known as irreversible. Shariputra, therefore, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he does not give opportunity to the actions of body, speech, and mind that are accompanied by faults. These clearly show the sangha of irreversible Bodhisattvas. This is the instruction on the Jewel of the Sangha. This is the instruction on non-attachment. After he had spoken thus, the venerable Shariputra said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, what are the faulty actions of body, the faulty actions of speech, and the faulty actions of mind of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva? After he had spoken thus, the Blessed One said to the venerable Shariputra: Shariputra, here, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva thinks: Whose action of body is the body that correctly acts? Whose action of speech is the speech that correctly acts? Whose action of mind is the mind that correctly acts? Shariputra, this is the root of the actions of body, speech, and mind of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva.

Om, complete and without deficiency. Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Prajnaparamita, with whatever body, whatever speech, whatever mind that generates stinginess, violation of precepts, anger, laziness, distraction, and the mind of corrupted wisdom, that body is unattainable, that speech is unattainable, that mind is unattainable. Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Prajnaparamita, whatever evil destinies are generated by body, speech, and mind, there is no place and no opportunity for them. Why is that? Shariputra, in this way, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the six Paramitas, he purifies the evil destinies of the body, purifies the evil destinies of speech, and purifies the evil destinies of the mind. Shariputra asked: World Honored One, how does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva purify the evil destinies of the body, purify the evil destinies of speech, and purify the evil destinies of the mind? The World Honored One said: Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva does not perceive the body, does not perceive speech, and does not perceive the mind, at that time, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva completely purifies the evil destinies of body, speech, and mind. Shariputra, furthermore, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, from the time of first generating the mind, upholds and abides in the ten virtuous paths of action, without generating the mind of a Shravaka or a Pratyekabuddha, and constantly and continuously places the mind of great compassion on all sentient beings, in that way, I say that the evil destinies of the body, speech, and mind of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva are completely purified. Shariputra, Bodhisattva Mahasattvas who practice the Prajnaparamita, all those who purify the path to enlightenment, and practice the Paramita of generosity, practice the Paramita of discipline, practice the Paramita of patience, practice the Paramita of diligence.
