And they are born equally with the gods of Paranirmita-vasavartin and Nirmāṇarati, and they dwell there, fully maturing sentient beings, fully purifying the Buddha-fields, and there are also those who please the Blessed One Buddha. Shariputra, moreover, those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who, having generated the four dhyanas, the four immeasurables, and the four formless absorptions, pass away, are born by skillful means from the Brahma world to Akanishtha. They also become great Brahmas of the Brahma there, and dwell in those Brahma abodes. They dwell there and go from Buddha-field to Buddha-field, and in those Buddha-fields, they pray to those Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Buddhas, to turn the wheel of Dharma, and these are the births from one realm of gods to another. Shariputra, Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, from obtaining the four dhyanas to obtaining the eighteen unshared dharmas of the Buddhas, and practicing in order to realize those, although they have obtained the four noble truths, they do not manifest those, these Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas should be known to be interrupted by one lifetime. This is one interruption. Shariputra, Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, from the very first arising of the mind, cultivate the four dhyanas, obtain the four immeasurables, obtain the four formless absorptions, as well as the four mindfulnesses, the right abandonments, the miraculous feet, the faculties, the powers, the limbs of enlightenment, the path of meditation, the powers, the fearlessnesses, the separate knowledges, and obtain the unshared dharmas of the Buddhas, etc., by skillful means they are born from the gods of the Brahma host to the gods of Akanishtha, and thereby manifest the unexcelled perfect and complete enlightenment, and do the deeds of sentient beings.

That which is called "completely passing into nirvana in the intermediate state" refers to completely passing into nirvana in the bardo. Shariputra, those bodhisattva-mahasattvas who, upon first generating the mind [of enlightenment], manifestly and completely awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, turn the wheel of dharma, perform deeds for immeasurable and countless sentient beings, and completely pass into nirvana in the realm of nirvana without remainder. Even after they have completely passed into nirvana, the sacred dharma remains for an eon or more than an eon. That which is called "completely passing into nirvana after birth." Shariputra, those bodhisattva-mahasattvas who practice the six perfections go from buddha-field to buddha-field, and in those [fields] also establish sentient beings in perfect enlightenment. They always strive for the benefit of sentient beings and never speak meaningless words. Constantly striving for the benefit of sentient beings, they go from buddha-field to buddha-field. Those bodhisattva-mahasattvas, for the benefit of sentient beings, in countless immeasurable eons, in various buddha-fields, manifestly and completely awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. That which is called "completely passing into nirvana with manifest intention." Shariputra, those bodhisattva-mahasattvas who, upon first generating the mind [of enlightenment], have truly transcended the faults of a bodhisattva and are definitely established on the irreversible ground, also create all the buddha-dharmas. Shariputra, those bodhisattva-mahasattvas who, upon first generating the mind [of enlightenment], are absorbed in the yoga of the perfection of wisdom, and who, together with countless hundreds of thousands of millions of bodhisattvas, go from buddha-field to buddha-field to behold the buddhas, the blessed ones, to ripen sentient beings, and to purify their own buddha-fields, and in various buddha-fields manifestly
