The samadhis of non-existence, as well as the ten powers of the Tathagata, as well as the four fearlessnesses, as well as the four individual perfect knowledges, as well as the selflessness that arises from the combination of the unmixed dharmas of the Buddha do not exist. Venerable Shariputra, by those names, all dharmas are the nature of non-substantiality. Venerable Shariputra, furthermore, all dharmas are impermanent, not separate from anything. Said: Venerable Subhuti, all dharmas are impermanent, not separate from anything, what are those? Said: Venerable Shariputra, form is impermanent, not separate from anything. Feeling as well as, perception as well as, formations as well as, consciousness is impermanent, not separate from anything. Why is that? Venerable Shariputra, whatever is impermanent, that is non-substantial and inexhaustible. Similarly, all dharmas are suffering, as well as selfless, as well as peaceful, as well as emptiness, as well as signless, as well as wishless, not separate from anything. Why is that? Venerable Shariputra, like this, whatever is wishless, that is non-substantial and exhausted. Venerable Shariputra, all dharmas are virtuous, as well as blameless, as well as without outflows, as well as without afflictions, as well as transcendent, as well as purified, as well as unconditioned, not separate from anything. Why is that? Venerable Shariputra, like this, whatever is unconditioned, that is non-substantial and exhausted. Venerable Shariputra, by those names, all dharmas are without self-nature, not separate from anything. Venerable Shariputra, furthermore, all dharmas are not permanently abiding, not decaying. Said: Venerable Subhuti, why are all dharmas not permanently abiding, and not decaying? Subhuti said: Venerable Shariputra, form is not permanently abiding, not decaying, why is that? Its nature is like that. Feeling as well as, perception as well as, formations as well as, consciousness is not permanently abiding, not decaying, why is that?

Then, its nature is such. Similarly, virtue and non-virtue, with fault and without fault, with outflows and without outflows, with afflictions and without afflictions, mundane and supramundane, conditioned and unconditioned, all afflictions and purified dharmas, as well as samsara and nirvana, are neither permanently existent nor will they be destroyed. Why is that? Because its nature is such. Venerable Shariputra, therefore, all dharmas are of the nature of non-substantiality. Chapter Twenty-Four. Venerable Shariputra, if someone says this: Why is form not manifestly established? Why are feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness not manifestly established? Venerable Shariputra, it is indeed so. Why is that? Venerable Shariputra, because form is unmanifestly unconditioned. Feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness are unmanifestly unconditioned. Why is that? Because for them, there is no manifest conditioner. Venerable Shariputra, the eye is unmanifestly unconditioned. Why is that? Because for it, there is no manifest conditioner. Ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind are unmanifestly unconditioned. Why is that? Because for them, there is no manifest conditioner. Venerable Shariputra, form is unmanifestly unconditioned. Why is that? Because for them, there is no manifest conditioner.
