Nor should it be combined. Nor should it be combined by saying, "Consciousness is without characteristics." Nor should it be combined by saying, "Consciousness is with aspirations." Nor should it be combined by saying, "Consciousness is without aspirations." Whoever practices in this way, one should not fixate on the notion that they are practicing the Perfection of Wisdom. One should not fixate on the notion of not practicing. Practicing yet not practicing, and not practicing yet not practicing, one should not fixate. Neither practicing nor not practicing, one should also not fixate. Shariputra, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who practices in this way should be said to be diligent in the Perfection of Wisdom. Shariputra, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, they should not practice the Perfection of Wisdom for the sake of the Perfection of Generosity. They should not practice the Perfection of Wisdom for the sake of the Perfection of Ethics. They should not practice the Perfection of Wisdom for the sake of the Perfection of Patience. They should not practice the Perfection of Wisdom for the sake of the Perfection of Diligence. They should not practice the Perfection of Wisdom for the sake of the Perfection of Meditation. They should not practice the Perfection of Wisdom for the sake of the Perfection of Wisdom. They should not practice the Perfection of Wisdom for the sake of the stage of non-retrogression. They should not practice the Perfection of Wisdom for the sake of fully ripening sentient beings. They should not practice the Perfection of Wisdom for the sake of completely purifying the Buddha-fields. They should not practice the Perfection of Wisdom for the sake of the ten powers of the Tathagata. They should not practice the Perfection of Wisdom for the sake of the four fearlessnesses. They should not practice the Perfection of Wisdom for the sake of the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha. They should not practice the Perfection of Wisdom for the sake of inner emptiness. They should not practice the Perfection of Wisdom for the sake of outer emptiness. They should not practice the Perfection of Wisdom for the sake of inner and outer emptiness. Emptiness, emptiness.
