One should understand their minds with the mind. They will not think: 'I should remember their past lives, and then go with magical powers and teach them the Dharma.' Shariputra, similarly, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva would think: 'I should know with my divine eye the death and birth of all beings in the world realms of the lower direction, as many as the sands of the Ganges River. I should listen to their sounds with the divine ear. I should understand their minds with the mind. They will not think: 'I should remember their past lives, and then go with magical powers and teach them the Dharma.' Shariputra, similarly, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva would think: 'I should know with my divine eye the death and birth of all beings in the world realms of the upper direction, as many as the sands of the Ganges River. I should listen to their sounds with the divine ear. I should understand their minds with the mind. They will not think: 'I should remember their past lives, and then go with magical powers and teach them the Dharma.' Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva thus practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he is diligent in completely liberating immeasurable, countless, and limitless beings from suffering. Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva thus practices the Perfection of Wisdom, the evil one will not find an opportunity. All the worldly afflictions of this will be completely eliminated. Shariputra, in the world realms of the eastern direction, as many as the sands of the Ganges River, all the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, who dwell and maintain life, and those who are their Shravakas, all the Pratyekabuddhas, the Four Great Kings, the Thirty-three, the No-Conflict, the Tushita, the Enjoying Emanation, the Controlling Others' Emanation, the Brahma Host, the Brahma Assistants, the Great Brahma, the Minor Light, the Immeasurable Light, the Clear Light, the Sugata.
