Because it is imperishable, the unconditioned is empty of the unconditioned. Why is that? Because its nature is such. This is called the emptiness of the unconditioned. What is the emptiness that transcends limits? That to which limits are not apprehended is called transcendence of limits. Because there is no permanence and no destruction, transcendence of limits is empty of transcendence of limits. Why is that? Because its nature is such. This is called the emptiness of transcendence of limits. What is the emptiness of having no beginning and no end? That to which beginning and end are not apprehended; therefore, it has no middle. That to which there is no beginning, no middle, and no end is not apprehended, to that going is not apprehended, nor is coming apprehended. Because there is no permanence and no destruction, having no beginning and no end is empty of having no beginning and no end. Why is that? Because its nature is such. This is called the emptiness of having no beginning and no end. What is the emptiness of not being abandoned? There is nothing to be abandoned in any dharma. Abandonment means: abandoning, forsaking, and relinquishing. Because there is no permanence and no destruction, not being abandoned is empty of not being abandoned. Why is that? Whether conditioned or unconditioned, whatever is the inherent existence of all dharmas is not made by the Hearers, not made by the Solitary Buddhas, nor made by the Tathagata Arhats Perfectly Awakened Buddhas. Because there is no permanence and no destruction, inherent existence is empty of inherent existence. Why is that? Because its nature is such. This is called the emptiness of inherent existence. What is the emptiness of all dharmas? All dharmas means: form, feeling, perception, formations, consciousness, eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, mind, form, sound, smell, taste, touch, dharmas, eye consciousness, ear consciousness.
