Four fearlessnesses, four analytical knowledges, and eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, thoroughly establishing sentient beings. Until those sentient beings have manifested and completely awakened into unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, they will never be separated from the Dharma that was taught. Subhuti, for example, a magician or a skilled apprentice of a magician might sit at a crossroads on a major road and conjure a crowd of many people in front of a large gathering of people, placing those sentient beings on the path of the ten virtuous actions or placing them in the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha. Subhuti, what do you think about this? Has that magician or the skilled apprentice of a magician placed any sentient being on the path of the ten virtuous actions? Has he placed them in the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha? He replied, "No, Blessed One." The Blessed One said, "Subhuti, in the same way, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva thoroughly places immeasurable and countless sentient beings on the path of the ten virtuous actions and places them in the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, but there is no sentient being that has been placed there. Subhuti, why is that? Because they have taken hold of the nature of illusion, because of the nature of the suchness of all phenomena. Subhuti, such a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva is said to have donned great armor, which is the aggregate of ethics." The Aggregate of Patience. Fifteenth Chapter. Furthermore, Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abides in the perfection of patience, and all sentient beings are also placed, encouraged, and thoroughly established in the perfection of patience. Subhuti, how does a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abide in the perfection of patience, and how are all sentient beings also placed, encouraged, and thoroughly established in the perfection of patience? Subhuti, here, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, from the moment of first generating the mind, takes up such armor: hundreds of thousands of sentient beings with stones and sticks,

Even if they strike me with fists and stab me with weapons, I will not generate even a trace of anger towards them, and I should aspire to make all sentient beings attain forbearance like that. Subhuti, for example, a magician or a skilled disciple of a magician sits at a crossroads on a great road, and in front of a large crowd of people, manifests a large crowd of people, making them practice and train in the perfection of forbearance. Subhuti, what do you think? Does that magician or skilled disciple of a magician make any sentient beings train in the perfection of forbearance? He replied: Bhagavan, no. The Bhagavan said: Subhuti, likewise, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva makes immeasurable, countless sentient beings train in the perfection of forbearance, but in reality, he does not make any sentient beings train in the perfection of forbearance. Why is that? Subhuti, if they regard phenomena as being like illusions, then the nature of phenomena is such. Subhuti, such a Bodhisattva Mahasattva is said to have donned great armor, and that is the collection of forbearance. The collection of diligence. Subhuti, furthermore, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva abides in the perfection of diligence, and makes all sentient beings correctly practice and train in the perfection of diligence. Subhuti, how does the Bodhisattva Mahasattva abide in the perfection of diligence, and make all sentient beings correctly practice and train in the perfection of diligence? Subhuti, here, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva generates a mind that is endowed with all-knowingness, thereby making all sentient beings correctly practice and train in the diligence of body and mind. Subhuti, for example, a magician or a skilled disciple of a magician sits at a crossroads on a great road, and in front of a large crowd of people, manifests a large crowd of people
