Not allowing complete belonging to the Hearer's ground, and truly abandoning, and the miraculous feet, and the faculties, and the powers, and the limbs of enlightenment, and the eightfold noble path called impermanent, teaching the Dharma in a way that does not focus on it, and suffering called, and selflessness called, and peace called, and solitude called, and emptiness called, and signlessness called, and wishlessness called, teaching the Dharma in a way that does not focus on it, and all those roots of virtue, except for omniscience itself, not allowing complete belonging to the Hearer's ground or the Solitary Buddha's ground, and meditation, and immeasurables, and formless attainments, and clairvoyance, these are called impermanent, teaching the Dharma in a way that does not focus on it, and the ten powers of the Thus-Gone One, and the four fearlessnesses, and the four individual correct knowledges, and among the unmixed Dharmas of the Buddha, called impermanent, teaching the Dharma in a way that does not focus on it, and suffering called, and selflessness called, and peace called, and solitude called, and emptiness called, and signlessness called, and wishlessness called, teaching the Dharma in a way that does not focus on it, and all those roots of virtue, except for omniscience itself, not allowing complete belonging to the Hearer's ground or the Solitary Buddha's ground. Subhuti, this should be recognized as the spiritual friend of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who is completely taken by the spiritual friend, after hearing the teaching of this Prajnaparamita, does not panic, does not completely fear, and will not become possessed of complete fear. Subhuti asked: Blessed One, when the Bodhisattva Mahasattva is moving in the Prajnaparamita, who teaches this Prajnaparamita, after hearing it panics and completely fears, becomes possessed of complete fear, becomes unskilled in means, and falls into the hands of evil friends, what is it like? When a great Bodhisattva engages in the Prajñāpāramitā, due to not attending with the attention endowed with all-knowingness, they cultivate and focus on the Prajñāpāramitā, and become arrogant with that Prajñāpāramitā; due to not attending with the attention endowed with all-knowingness, they cultivate and focus on the Dhyāna-pāramitā, and become arrogant with that Dhyāna-pāramitā; due to not attending with the attention endowed with all-knowingness, they cultivate and focus on the Virya-pāramitā, and become arrogant with that Virya-pāramitā; due to not attending with the attention endowed with all-knowingness, they cultivate and focus on the Kṣānti-pāramitā, and become arrogant with that Kṣānti-pāramitā; due to not attending with the attention endowed with all-knowingness, they cultivate and focus on the Śīla-pāramitā, and become arrogant with that Śīla-pāramitā; due to not attending with the attention endowed with all-knowingness, they cultivate and focus on the Dāna-pāramitā, and become arrogant with that Dāna-pāramitā. Such a one, Subhuti, should be recognized as a Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva who is unskilled in the means of engaging in the Prajñāpāramitā. Furthermore, Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva engages in the Prajñāpāramitā, due to not attending with the attention endowed with all-knowingness, they attend to form as internally empty; they attend to form as externally empty; they attend to form as both internally and externally empty; they attend to form as the emptiness of the nature of non-things up to emptiness itself. Due to not attending with the attention endowed with all-knowingness, they attend to feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness as internally empty; they attend to consciousness as externally empty; they attend to consciousness as both internally and externally empty; due to not attending with the attention endowed with all-knowingness, they attend to consciousness as the emptiness of the nature of non-things.
