Feeling arising from conditions is emptiness itself. Emptiness itself is the feeling arising from the conditions of contact of the sense base aggregate. The emptiness of the feeling arising from the conditions of contact of the tongue aggregate is not that the feeling arising from the conditions of contact of the tongue aggregate is not empty, but the feeling arising from the conditions of contact of the tongue aggregate is emptiness itself. Emptiness itself is the feeling arising from the conditions of contact of the tongue aggregate. The emptiness of the feeling arising from the conditions of contact of the body aggregate is not that the feeling arising from the conditions of contact of the body aggregate is not empty, but the feeling arising from the conditions of contact of the body aggregate is emptiness itself. Emptiness itself is the feeling arising from the conditions of contact of the body aggregate. The emptiness of the feeling arising from the conditions of contact of the mind aggregate is not that the feeling arising from the conditions of contact of the mind aggregate is not empty, but the feeling arising from the conditions of contact of the mind aggregate is emptiness itself. Emptiness itself is the feeling arising from the conditions of contact of the mind aggregate. The emptiness between the mindfulness is not that the mindfulness is not empty, but the mindfulness is emptiness itself. Emptiness itself is the mindfulness. The right abandonments, the feet of miracles, the faculties, and the powers are also the same. The emptiness between the unmixed dharmas of the Buddha is not that the unmixed dharmas of the Buddha are not empty, but the unmixed dharmas of the Buddha are emptiness itself. Emptiness itself is the unmixed dharmas of the Buddha. Subhuti, this is the Prajnaparamita of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva. When the Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices in this way in the Prajnaparamita, he will not be afraid, he will not be universally afraid, he will not be endowed with universal fear, which is called the first holding, which is held by skillful means. The second holding: held by a virtuous friend. Subhuti asked: Blessed One, by what is it held that after hearing this teaching of Prajnaparamita, one will not be alarmed, will not be universally afraid, will not be endowed with universal fear, is the virtuous friend of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva.

What is it? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, for a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva's virtuous friend, if someone tells him that form is impermanent, and teaches the Dharma in a way that does not cling to it, then all those roots of virtue, except for completely dedicating them to all-knowing wisdom, should not be assigned to the level of a Hearer or a Solitary Buddha. Feelings, perceptions, formations, and consciousness are also impermanent, and teaches the Dharma in a way that does not cling to it, then all those roots of virtue, except for completely dedicating them to all-knowing wisdom, should not be assigned to the level of a Hearer or a Solitary Buddha. Subhuti, this should be understood as a virtuous friend of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva. Subhuti, furthermore, a virtuous friend of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva is, if someone tells him that form is suffering, and teaches the Dharma in a way that does not cling to it, form is without self, peaceful, secluded, empty, without characteristics, without aspirations, and teaches the Dharma in a way that does not cling to it, then all those roots of virtue, except for completely dedicating them to all-knowing wisdom, should not be assigned to the level of a Hearer or a Solitary Buddha.
