Because the Bodhisattva does not correctly perceive the future limit. He does not connect or separate consciousness with what arises in the present. Why is that? Because the Bodhisattva does not correctly perceive what arises in the present. Up to the point of all-knowingness, he does not connect or separate with the past limit. Why is that? Because the Bodhisattva does not correctly perceive the past limit. He does not connect or separate with the future limit in all-knowingness. Why is that? Because the Bodhisattva does not correctly perceive the future limit. He does not connect or separate with what arises in the present in all-knowingness. Why is that? Because the Bodhisattva does not correctly perceive what arises in the present. Shariputra, such conduct of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva is said to be diligent in the Perfection of Wisdom. Shariputra, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he does not connect the past limit with the future limit. He does not connect the future limit with the past limit, nor does he connect what arises in the present with the past or future limit. He does not connect the past or future limit with what arises in the present. Why is that? Because of the equality of the three times.

It should be said thus. Shariputra, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, they should strive in this way. How does one strive? One does not connect all-knowingness to the past, because if one does not truly see the very nature of the past, how can one connect all-knowingness to the past? One does not connect all-knowingness to the future, because if one does not truly see the very nature of the future, how can one connect all-knowingness to the future? One does not connect all-knowingness to the present, because if one does not truly see the very nature of the present, how can one connect all-knowingness to the present? Shariputra, such practice by a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva is called striving in the Perfection of Wisdom, which is the teaching on the Truth of the Path. The teaching on the Three Jewels. The teaching on the Buddha Jewel. Shariputra, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, they do not connect form to all-knowingness, because one does not truly see the very nature of form. They do not connect feeling to all-knowingness, because one does not truly see the very nature of feeling. They do not connect perception to all-knowingness, because one does not truly see the very nature of perception. They do not connect formations to all-knowingness, because one does not truly see the very nature of formations. They do not connect consciousness to all-knowingness, because one does not truly see the very nature of consciousness. They do not connect the eye to all-knowingness, because one does not truly see the very nature of the eye. They do not connect the ear to all-knowingness, because one does not truly see the very nature of the ear. They do not connect the nose to all-knowingness, because one does not truly see the very nature of the nose.
