is the door to all dharmas because the aggregates are not perceived. Jā (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning) is the door to all dharmas because joy is not perceived. Ce (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning) is the door to all dharmas because conduct is not perceived. Ṭa (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning) is the door to all dharmas because harm is not perceived. Ha (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning) is the door to all dharmas because self-grasping is not perceived. Beyond that, there are no terms for letters. Why is that? Because, in this way, there is nothing by which anything can be named, nothing by which it can be spoken, nothing by which it can be indicated, nothing by which it can be understood, and no name by which it can be seen. Subhuti, in this way, all dharmas should be understood as being like the sky. Subhuti, this is entering the door of the dharani, it is entering the teaching of the letter A (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning) and so on. Furthermore, Subhuti, if any bodhisattva mahasattva is skilled in the letter A (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning) and so on, if he fully understands this, then he will not be obstructed by any sound, and he will establish all of these as the nature of equality. He will gain skill in knowing sounds. Subhuti, if any bodhisattva listens to, hears, holds, recites, reads, and fully understands these mudras of the letter A (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning) and so on, and also teaches them to others with proper mindfulness, then know that he has twenty good qualities. What are the twenty? They are as follows: he will be endowed with mindfulness, he will be endowed with intelligence, he will be endowed with understanding. He will be endowed with wisdom, he will be endowed with stability, he will be endowed with a sense of shame, he will be endowed with knowledge, he will be endowed with confidence, and he will easily obtain this door of dharani. He will be without doubt, he will be without hesitation. Even if he hears pleasant sounds, he will not be attached, and he will not be angered by harsh words, he will not be arrogant, and he will not be humble, he will abide as it is. He will be skilled in sounds, he will be skilled in the aggregates, he will be skilled in the elements, he will be skilled in the sense bases, he will be skilled in the truths, and he will be skilled in dependent origination.

And become skilled in arising, skilled in causes, skilled in conditions, skilled in the nature of reality, skilled in knowing superior and non-superior faculties, skilled in knowing the minds of others, skilled in knowing the actions of magical powers, skilled in knowing the divine ear consciousness, skilled in knowing the recollection of past abodes, skilled in knowing death and rebirth, skilled in knowing the exhaustion of defilements, skilled in knowing the indication of what is and is not the case, skilled in going and returning, skilled in conduct. These twenty benefits will be obtained. Subhuti, entering the door of the dharani with letters such as A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A), in a non-objective way, is called the Great Vehicle of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, which is a collection of dharanis. The Collection of Grounds. Subhuti, if you say, how does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva truly enter the Great Vehicle? Subhuti, here, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the six perfections and ascends from ground to ground. Subhuti, how does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practice the six perfections and ascend from ground to ground? It is like this: because all dharmas have no movement. Why is that? Because no dharma comes or goes, moves or approaches moving. However, one does not become arrogant about the state of whatever all dharmas are, nor does one think about it, and one also completely purifies the ground, and one does not truly see that ground. So, what is the complete purification of the ground of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva? Subhuti, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva abiding on the first ground should do these ten complete purifications. What are these ten? Completely purifying the superior intention in a non-objective way, completely purifying beneficial things because of not fixating on characteristics, completely purifying equanimity towards all sentient beings because of not fixating on sentient beings, and not fixating on giving, abandoning, and receiving.
